Purpose : This study analyzes the recent international trade-related policies of President Trump and Biden. Also, This study was designed to examine how Korean industries can respond to the United States’ Protective trade measures. Research design, data, methodology : This study focused on literature review and interview investigation based on recent international trade-related issues in the United States and South Korea’s countermeasure. and also this study briefly describes the international trade laws enacted in the United States. Results : As a result of this study, it was confirmed that there were important variables including human resource development, implementation of active marketing activity, relocation of production facilities, collaboration with domestic and international law firms, and strengthening cooperation with United States’ companies and industries. Conclusions : This result shows that the human resource development as well as implementation of active marketing activity can play an important role to sustain South Korea’s development. also not only relocation of production facilities and but also collaboration with domestic and international law firm is necessary for the development of our country.

본 논문은 트럼프 1기 행정부, 바이든 행정부, 트럼프 2기 행정부 때 추진했던 통상관련 정책 을 알아보고 향후 우리나라의 대응방안을 모색하기 위해 기획되고 고안되었다. 본 연구를 위 해 미국의 통상정책에 영향을 끼쳤던 주요 입법 상례에 대해 알아보았고 대표적인 것으로 스 무트 홀리 관세법, 1934년에 제정된 상호무역협정법, 1970년에 제정된 무역법, 그리고 1988년 에 제정되었던 종합무역법이 있다. 또한 트럼프 1기 행정부, 바이든 행정부, 트럼프 2기 행정부 때 추진되었던 여러 통상관련 정책에 대해 알아보고 이들의 주요 특성에 대해 언급하였다. 이 러한 미국의 통상정책의 추진에 따른 우리나라 산업계의 대응방안에 대해 알아보았고 그 주요 연수로는 인재양성, 마케팅 활동의 강화, 생산시설의 이전, 미국 로펌과의 연계, 미국에 있는 기업 및 산업체와의 협력, 미국내 인적자원 구축과 활용 등을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 시기적으 로 트럼프의 상호관세 부과에 따른 우리의 대응방안이 중요한 시기인 만큼 그 의의는 있다고 하겠다.
