The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational effects of a self-directed learning-centered instructional approach based on a case of operating a university interdisciplinary liberal arts course.The study was conducted with 14 university students who enrolled in the convergence liberal arts course “Art and Technology,” offered at S University in the second semester of the 2025 academic year. The research method focused on the analysis of the course operation case and comprehensively examined learners’ self-directed learning plans, learning outputs and final products, self-reflection materials, course satisfaction surveys, and the instructor’s self-evaluation data. The convergence liberal arts course operated with a self-directed learning focus provided high learning satisfaction and positive learning experiences regardless of the students’ majors, and its effects in promoting shifts in thinking and fostering interdisciplinary understanding were confirmed. A self-directed learning-centered convergence liberal arts course can develop into a practical alternative for learner-led liberal arts education required in the AI era.

본 연구는 대학 융복합 교양교과목의 운영사례를 바탕으로 자기주도학습 중심 수업 운영 방식의 교육적 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 2025학년도 2학기에 S대학교 에서 개설된 융복합 교양교과목 예술과 과학기술 을 수강한 대학생 14명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 연구방법은 수업 운영 사례 분석을 중심으로, 학습자의 자기주도학습 설 계안, 학습 산출물 및 결과물, 자기 성찰 자료, 강의 만족도 설문, 그리고 교수자의 강 의 자가진단 자료를 종합적으로 분석하는 방식으로 수행되었다. 자기주도학습 중심으 로 운영된 융복합 교양교과목은 학습자의 전공과 무관하게 높은 학습 만족도와 긍정 적인 학습 경험을 제공하였으며, 학습자의 사고 전환과 융복합적 이해를 촉진하는 효 과가 확인되었다. 자기주도학습 중심 융복합 교양교과목이 AI 시대에 요구되는 학습 자 주도형 교양교육의 실천적 대안으로 발전할 수 있을 것이다.
