This study explores the relationship between complex trauma and borderline personality disorder(BPD) through an integrative approach combining a review of the literature with an in-depth case analysis, and seeks to propose pastoral care strategies as healing responses within the church community. Previous research confirms that complex trauma is closely associated with the core features of BPD, including affective dysregulation, identity disturbance, and relational instability. Consistent with these findings, a thematic analysis of counseling data drawn from twenty sessions over a six-month period further substantiates this association at the clinical level. Grounded in the case study, this research articulates a pastoral care framework for the church as a healing community by integrating Judith Herman’s phased model of trauma recovery with key principles of prolonged exposure therapy. In doing so, the study offers a pastoral counseling contribution that equips church communities to embrace and accompany individuals living with complex trauma and borderline personality disorder within a context of healing and restoration.

본 연구는 복합외상과 경계선 성격장애의 상관관계를 문헌연구와 사례연구를 통해 분석하고, 교회공동체의 치유적 대응으로서 목회돌봄 방안 을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 기존 연구를 통해 복합외상이 정서 조절의 어려움, 정체성 혼란, 불안정한 대인관계 등 경계선 성격장애의 핵심 증상 과 밀접하게 연관됨을 확인하였고, 이어 6개월간 20회기 상담 자료에 대 한 주제분석 역시 이를 증명하는 사례분석 결과를 나타냈다. 특히 사례연 구에 기반한 치유공동체로서 교회가 어떻게 목회돌봄을 이끌 수 있을지를 주디스 허먼의 단계적 외상 치유 모델과 지속노출치료의 핵심 원리를 통 합한 목회적 돌봄 지침을 제안하였다. 이를 통해 교회공동체가 복합외상 과 경계선 성격장애를 지닌 이들을 품는 치유공동체로 서기 위한 목회상 담적인 기여를 제공하고자 한다.
