This paper proposes a novel AI-based model to support the construction of life narratives for the elderly, grounded in the theory of embodied cognition. In later life, the wealth of experiences, memories, and the resulting narratives play a pivotal role in maintaining identity formation and psychological well-being. However, conventional AI approaches have faced limitations in capturing the nuanced, relational, and context-dependent aspects of human experience. Drawing upon enactivism, the theory of extended cognition, and experientialism, this study seeks to establish a conceptual foundation for an AI system that authentically reflects and supports the process by which older adults construct and reminisce about their life histories. To this end, the research first explores the embodied significance of aging and reviews core theories of embodied cognition to present and comparatively analyze individual AI models based on each perspective. Ultimately, by synthesizing these models, this paper proposes an “Integrated Embodied Cognition Model” along with the underlying principles for fostering meaningful interaction between humans and AI.

이 논문은 체화인지 이론을 바탕으로 노인의 생애사 구축을 지원하는 새로운 AI 모델을 제안한다. 노년기의 풍부한 경험과 기억, 그리고 이를 바탕으로 한 서사는 정체성형성과 심리적 안녕감을 유지하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 수행한다. 그러나 기존의 AI 접근은인간 경험의 미묘하고 관계적이며 상황 의존적인 측면을 포착하는 데 한계가 있다. 이에 본연구는 행화주의, 확장인지 이론, 체험주의에 근거하여, 노인이 자신의 생애사를 구성하고회상하는 과정을 진정성 있게 반영하고 지원하는 AI 시스템의 개념적 토대를 마련하고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 노화가 갖는 체화적 의미를 탐구하고 체화인지의 핵심 이론들을 검토하여, 각이론에 기반한 개별 AI 모델을 제시하고 비교 분석한다. 최종적으로 이러한 모델들을결합함으로써 인간과 AI 간의 의미 있는 상호작용을 유도하는 통합원리와 ‘통합 체화인지모델’을 제안한다.
