This study aims to diagnose the threats to human dignity and the crisis of losing the essence of education caused by the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, and to demonstrate the necessity of a transition to the holistic education paradigm as a fundamental alternative. To explore the ethical and philosophical foundations of character education in the AI era, this research analyzed the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, the Ministry of Education's ethical principles, and the holistic education principles of GATE from various perspectives. The findings reveal that all three guidelines share a common goal of "restoring humanity." In particular, it was confirmed that holistic education provides the value of "Transformation," which seeks a fundamental change in existence beyond the mere transmission of knowledge. Furthermore, through case analyses of EHAS in Canada and the Green School in Indonesia, this study examined how connectedness, wholeness, spirituality, and ecological responsibility are implemented in actual educational settings. These schools present practical models that strengthen the unique human sense of connection and agency, which AI cannot replicate. In conclusion, this research advocates for a decisive transition toward holistic education to foster well-rounded individuals who contribute to the sustainability of humanity and the global community, moving beyond mere technical skill training in the era of AI.

본 연구는 인공지능(AI) 기술의 급격한 발전이 초래한 인간존엄성과 교육의 본질 상실 위기를 진 단하고, 이에 대한 근본적 대안으로서 홀리스틱교육 패러다임의 필연성을 논증하는 데 목적이 있다. AI시대 인성교육의 윤리적·철학적 토대를 탐색하기 위해 UNESCO의 인공지능 윤리 권고와 교육부 의 실천 원칙, 그리고 GATE의 홀리스틱교육 원리를 다각도로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 세 가지 지침 모두 ‘인간성 회복’이라는 공동의 지향점을 공유하고 있으며, 특히 홀리스틱교육은 지식의 전달을 넘 어 존재의 근본적 변화를 꾀하는 ‘변용(Transformation)’의 가치를 제공함을 확인하였다. 나아가 캐나다의 EHAS와 인도네시아의 Green School 사례 분석을 통해 관계성, 전일성, 영성, 생 태적 책임감이 실제 교육현장에서 구현되는 양상을 고찰하였다. 이들 학교는 AI가 대체할 수 없는 인간 고유의 연결 의식과 주체성을 강화하는 실천적 모델을 제시한다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 AI 시 대의 인성교육이 단순한 기술 활용 차원을 넘어, 인간과 지구 공동체의 지속가능성에 기여하는 전 인적 인재 양성을 위한 홀리스틱 교육 패러다임으로 과감히 전환될 것을 제안한다.
