Today, horizontal leadership and the care of believers are emerging as critical pastoral tasks for the Korean church. While the introduction of coaching is being actively explored as an alternative, the majority of existing Christian coaching models uncritically adopt self-reinforcement systems for performance enhancement based on humanistic psychology. Consequently, it is difficult to avoid the criticism that Christian coaching may undermine the essence of the church, degenerate into a functional tool for ministry efficiency, and rather exacerbate the spiritual burnout of believers. Accordingly, this study redefines the approach of coaching from 'doing' to 'being' and the goal from 'self-achievement' to the 'manifestation of Christ,' proposing 'Christian Existence-Oriented Coaching' as a practical alternative. To this end, the study first firmly established the biblical identity of existence. The results revealed that the true existence of a Christian lies in the 'Subjectivity Transfer' where sovereignty is transferred from 'self' to 'Christ,' and that the direction of coaching must be toward ontological restoration. Subsequently, through Jonathan Edwards' theological anthropology, it was confirmed that the actual dynamic of existential change depends on the 'heart' and its driving force, 'disposition.' Ultimately, it was demonstrated that true change is completed when the disposition of the heart is filled with holy affections and wholly inclined toward Christ, which is realized only through a 'vital union with Christ.' Based on these principles, the '4-Stage Coaching Model of Heart Union (Knowing-Becoming-Uniting -Manifesting)' was developed, and an implementation process was presented for application in the pastoral context. The first stage, 'Knowing (Heart Orientation),' is a process of ontological restoration where the coachee deconstructs the distorted self immersed in problems and discovers the unique mode of existence in the image of God. The second stage, 'Becoming (Heart Expansion),' is a process of expanding existential possibilities through metaphorical imagery and creativity to acquire and visualize unique tendencies. The third stage, 'Uniting (Heart Union),' is a practical process of union where, through the '3S' process under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, one stops one's own thoughts, stays in Christ, and perceives the Lord's heart. The final fourth stage, 'Manifesting (Heart Production),' is a process of actualizing the manifestation of Christ in daily life by concretely visualizing the union with Christ through another '3S' and declaring it verbally. This study holds significance in that it proclaims Christian identity as 'Christ living within, not I,' establishes this as the essence of Christian coaching, and presents concrete practical techniques accordingly. It is expected that 'Christian Existence-Oriented Coaching' will shift the subject of life from self-centered to Christ-centered and serve as a catalyst for forming a new ecosystem of care ministry and horizontal church community in the Korean church.

오늘날 한국교회는 수평적 리더십과 성도들의 돌봄이 중요한 목회적 과제로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 대한 대안으로 코칭의 도입이 적극 모색되고 있으나, 기존의 대다수 크리 스천 코칭 모델은 인본주의 심리학에 기반한 성과 향상의 자기 강화 체계를 여과 없 이 답습하고 있다. 이는 크리스천 코칭이 자칫 교회 본질을 훼손하고 사역의 효율성 을 위한 기능적 도구로 전락하여 성도의 영적 소진을 오히려 가중한다는 비판을 면하 기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 코칭의 접근 방법을 행위에서 존재로, 코칭 목표를 나의 성취에서 그리스도의 현현으로 새롭게 정립하고 그 실천적 대안으로 ‘크리스천 존재 중심 코칭’을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 성경적 존재의 정체성을 명확히 확립하는 작업을 선행하였다. 그 결과 크리스천의 진정한 존재는 나로부터 그리스도에게 주권이 이양 되는 ‘주체성 전이’에 있으며, 코칭의 방향은 존재론적 회복에 있어야 함을 밝혔다. 이 어 조나단 에드워즈의 신학적 인간론을 통해 존재의 변화에 대한 실질적 역동이 마음 과 그 동력인 성향에 의존함을 확인하였다. 결국 진정한 변화는 마음의 성향이 거룩 한 정서로 채워지고 그리스도에게 온전히 기울어질 때 완성되며 이는 오직 그리스도 와의 생명적 연합을 통해서만 실현됨을 규명하였다. 이상의 원리를 바탕으로 목회 현장에 적용하기 위해 ‘마음 연합의 4단계 코칭 모형(앎-됨-합-현)’을 개발하고 실행 프 로세스를 제시하였다. 1단계 ‘앎(마음 지향)’은 피코치가 문제 속에 함몰된 왜곡된 자 아를 해체하고 하나님 형상의 고유한 존재 방식을 발견하는 존재론적 회복의 과정이 다. 2단계 ‘됨(마음 확장)’은 은유의 형상화와 창의를 통해 존재의 가능성을 확장하여 고유한 경향성을 획득하고 이를 시각화하는 과정이다. 3단계 ‘합(마음 연합)’은 ‘3S’ 프 로세스를 통해 성령의 주도함 속에 내 생각을 멈추고, 그리스도 안에 머물며, 주님의 마음을 알아차리는 연합의 실제적 과정이다. 마지막 4단계 ‘현(마음 생산)’은 또 다른 ‘3S’를 통해 그리스도와의 연합을 구체적으로 시각화하고 언어로 선언함으로써 일상의 그리스도 현현을 실재화하는 과정이다. 본 연구는 크리스천의 정체성이 내가 아닌 그 리스도가 사시는 것임을 천명하고 이를 크리스천 코칭의 본질로 삼아 그에 따른 구체 적 실천 기법을 제시했다는 데 의의를 둔다. ‘크리스천 존재중심 코칭’이 삶의 주체를 나 중심에서 그리스도 중심으로 전환하고, 한국교회의 돌봄 사역과 수평적 교회 공동 체의 새로운 생태계를 형성하는 마중물이 되기를 기대한다.
