This study examined the relative effects of emotional labor, self-efficacy, and emotion regulation variability (ERV) on psychological distress and tested the mediating roles of self-efficacy and ERV in this relationship. Participants were 200 in-service elementary, middle, and high school teachers. Emotional labor (surface and deep acting), self-efficacy, and psychological distress were assessed using validated self-report measures, and ERV was calculated using deviation-based formulas to derive within- and between-situation ERV. Data were analyzed using regression and structural equation modeling. Results showed that surface acting, deep acting, and within-situation ERV significantly predicted psychological distress. The mediating effects of self-efficacy and between-situation ERV were not significant. Although the total indirect effect of deep acting was significant, none of the specific indirect effects reached statistical significance, suggesting that the relationship between emotional labor and psychological distress is complex.

본 연구는 감정노동, 자기 효능감, 감정조절 변동성이 심리적 고통에 미치는 상대적 영향력 을 살펴보고, 감정노동과 심리적 고통의 관계에서 자기 효능감과 감정조절 변동성의 매개효 과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 초ㆍ중ㆍ고 재직 교사 200명이었다. 감정노동(표면행동 과 내면행동), 교사 자기 효능감, 심리적 고통은 자기보고식 척도를 통해 측정하였으며, 감정 조절 변동성은 상황 내 및 상황 간 변동성을 산출하기 위해 편차 기반 공식을 사용하여 계 산하였다. 자료는 회귀분석과 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 표면행동, 내 면행동 및 상황 내 감정조절 변동성은 심리적 고통에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 자기 효능감과 상황 간 감정조절 변동성의 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 내면행동에서 심리적 고통에 이르 는 총 간접효과는 유의하였으나 특정 간접효과는 유의한 수준에 도달하지는 못하였다. 이러 한 결과는 교사의 감정노동과 심리적 고통 간의 관계가 단일한 매개 경로보다는 복합적인 과정으로 설명될 가능성을 시사한다.
