This study focuses on the sequelae that emerge following experiences of bullying victimization among adolescents and examines the effects of social capital on these outcomes. Using data from the Seventh National Crime Victimization Survey (2017): Children and Youth Victimization Survey, the study analyzed responses from 869 adolescents who reported experiences of bullying. In particular, the sequelae were classified into two categories—psychological/mental and behavioral—and analyzed separately. The results reveal that higher levels of perceived social capital from family, friends, and teachers were associated with lower levels of psychological and mental sequelae, with friends’ social capital exerting the strongest effect. Regarding behavioral sequelae, only friends’ social capital showed a significant negative association. Furthermore, both the continuity of bullying victimization and prior experiences of victimization increased the likelihood of psychological and emotional sequelae, while sustained bullying experiences also significantly contributed to behavioral sequelae. These findings suggest that the sequelae of bullying victimization may vary depending on the degree of support and interaction within adolescents’ social networks. In particular, close relational resources—such as social capital derived from family, friends, and teachers —play a crucial role in adolescents’ recovery processes. Therefore, enhancing peer support programs, emotional support systems within schools, and integrated intervention networks involving families, schools, and communities is essential for mitigating the aftereffects of bullying among adolescents.

본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 괴롭힘 피해 경험 이후 나타나는 후유증에 주목하고, 사회적자본이 이러한 후유증에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 이를 위해 「전국범죄 피해 조사(VII): 2017 아동·청소년 범죄 피해조사」자료 중 괴롭힘 피해를 경험한 869명의 청소년을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 특히, 후유증의 유형을 심리적·정신적 후유증과 행동적 후유증으로 구분하여 분석을 시도하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 가족·친구·교사의 사회적자본에 대한 인식이 높을수록 심리적·정신 적 후유증의정도는낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 그중에서도 친구의 사회적자본이 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 행동적 후유증의 경우 친구의 사회적자본만이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 괴롭힘 피해의 지속여부와 과거 피해 경험은 심리적· 정서적 후유증을 높이는 요인으로 작용하였으며, 특히 지속적인 피해는 행동적 후유증 에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 괴롭힘 피해 후유증이 사회적 관계망 내에서 형성되는 지지와 상호 작용에 따라 달라질 수 있음을 시사한다. 특히 청소년의 회복 과정에서 가족·친구·교사 와 같은 밀접한 관계의 사회적자본이 중요한 요인으로 작용함을보여준다. 따라서괴롭 힘 피해 청소년의 회복을 위해서는 학교 내 또래 지지 프로그램 및 정서 지원 시스템을 강화하고, 가정과 학교, 지역사회가 함께 협력하는 통합적인 지원체계를 마련할 필요가 있다.
