This study evaluates the long-term effects of an arts-based educational intervention aimed at promoting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12, specifically Responsible Consumption and Production (12.5), among secondary school students in Korea. Through a participatory action-oriented learning approach, students engaged in the creation of a campaign song and music video, which reinforced sustainable behaviors, such as using reusable tumblers instead of disposable paper cups. Employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the analytical framework, we conducted mediation analysis to investigate the pathways leading to behavior change. Mediation analysis confirmed that attitudes had both indirect and total effects on behavior change, mediated by intention. Although perceived behavioral control did not show a significant direct effect, qualitative data suggest that school-level regulations may impact students’ control over disposable cup use. This study highlights the potential of arts-based, action-oriented education in driving sustainable behaviors and suggests implications for policy in expanding such participatory educational models globally, particularly in diverse cultural and educational contexts.

본 연구는 한국의 고등학생을 대상으로 지속가능발전목표(SDG) 12, 특히 ‘책임 있는 소비와 생산’(12.5)을 촉진하기 위한 문화예술 기반 교육 개입의 장기적 효과를 평가하였다. 참여적이 고 행동지향적인 학습 접근법을 통해 학생들은 재사용 가능한 텀블러 사용 등 지속가능한 행동 을 강화하기 위한 캠페인 송과 뮤직비디오 제작에 직접 참여하였다. 분석의 이론적 틀로 계획행 동이론(Theory of Planned Behavior, TPB)을 적용하여, 행동 변화를 유도하는 경로를 매개분 석(mediation analysis)을 통해 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 태도(attitude)는 의도(intention)를 매 개로 하여 행동 변화에 직간접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 인지된 행동통제 (perceived behavioral control)는 유의한 직접 효과를 보이지는 않았으나, 질적 자료 분석을 통 해 학교 차원의 규제가 학생들의 일회용 컵 사용 통제력에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사하였다. 본 연구는 문화예술기반 행동지향 교육이 지속가능한 행동 변화를 촉진할 수 있는 잠재력을 보 여주며, 다양한 문화적·교육적 맥락에서 이러한 참여형 교육 모델을 전 세계적으로 확산시키기 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시한다.
