This study intends to outline the future development of a Korean language curriculum and corresponding textbooks designed to train foreign medical tourism coordinators, a necessity driven by the expansion of South Korea's medical tourism sector and the rising number of international patients. The research began by examining the specific job requirements of medical tourism coordinators and evaluating currently available two textbooks, alongside actual educational practices observed in university settings. The findings indicate that existing textbooks strive for a task-oriented framework, mirroring the patient's medical journey, and introduce specialized interpretation and translation exercises, but they suffer from substantial flaws, notably a considerable difference in difficulty between introductory and advanced stages and the lack of a standardized curriculum. Moreover, in real-world educational environments, standardized medical interpretation training is not consistently offered, and systematic instruction in legal and ethical matters is insufficient. In response, this research proposes several integrated strategies to enhance Korean language education for medical tourism: establishing a standard curriculum informed by the requirements of industry professionals, constructing modular textbooks customized for various learner abilities, reinforcing teaching methodologies focused on practical application through the use of role-playing and artificial intelligence, and developing a curriculum that fully incorporates essential medical ethics and legal knowledge.

본 연구는 한국의 의료 관광 산업 성장과 외국인 환자 증가에 발맞추어, 외국인 의료 관광 코디네이터를 양성하기 위한 한국어 교육과정과 교재 개발 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 의료 관광 코디네이터의 직무 특성을 분석하고, 기존에 개발 된 『의료관광한국어』와 『실전! 의료한국어통번역』 교재 및 실제 대학의 교육 사례를 검 토하였다. 분석 결과, 현행 교재들은 환자의 진료 여정에 따른 직무 중심 구성과 전문 적인 의료 통번역 실습을 시도하고 있으나, 초급과 고급 과정 사이의 난이도 격차가 크 고 표준화된 교육과정이 부재하다는 문제점이 확인되었다. 또한 실제 교육 현장에서는 표준화된 의료 통번역 교육과정이 진행되지 못하고 있으며, 법적·윤리적 교육이 체계 적으로 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 의료 관광 한국어 교육의 발전을 위해 현장 전문가의 요구를 반영한 표준 교육과정 개발, 학습자 수준에 맞춘 모듈형 교재 구 성, 역할극 및 AI를 활용한 실습 중심 교수법 강화, 그리고 의료 윤리 및 법적 지식을 통 합하는 교육과정을 제언한다.
