The study was done to identify how professional self-concept, awareness of disaster influence paramedicine student’s disaster preparedness and contribute to enhance their level of disaster preparedness. Data was collected by online structured questionnaire from September 1, 2025 to October 14, 2025 with 180 students majoring paramedicine. It was demonstrated that disaster preparedness was significantly correlated with professional self-concept(r=.270, p<.001), awareness of disaster(r=.354, p<.001). However, the results of hierarchical regression analysis controlling for general characteristics showed that professional self-concept was the only significant predictor of disaster preparedness(β=.246, p=.002), whereas awareness of disaster, although related to disaster preparedness, was not identified as a significant predictor(p=.103). These findings suggest that, in order to enhance disaster preparedness among paramedicine students, educational approaches focusing on strengthening professional self-concept are more important than merely increasing awareness of disaster. Therefore, paramedicine education curricula should emphasize the development and implementation of educational strategies that systematically cultivate disaster response competency through the formation of professional identity.

본 연구는 응급구조학 전공 학생의 전문직 자아개념과 재난인식이 재난대비에 미치는 영향을 규명하고, 이를 통해 재난대비 수준을 향상시키고자 수행되었다. 자료 수집은 2025년 9월 1일부터 10월 14일까지 응급구조학 전공 학생 180명을 대상으로 구조화된 온라인 설문지를 이용하여 이루어졌다. 연구 결과, 재난대비는 전문직 자아개념(r=.270, p<.001) 및 재난 인식(r=.354, p<.001)과 유의한 관계를 보였다. 그러나 일반적 특성을 통제한 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 전문직 자아개념만이 재 난대비의 유의한 예측 요인으로 확인되었으며(β=.246, p=.002), 재난인식은 재난대비와 관련성은 있으나 유의한 예측 요인 으로는 나타나지 않았다(p=.103). 이러한 결과는 응급구조학 전공 학생의 재난대비를 향상시키기 위해서는 단순한 재난 인식 제고보다는 전문직 자아개념을 강화하는 교육적 접근이 보다 중요함을 시사한다. 따라서 응급구조학 교육과정에서는 전문직 정체성 형성을 중심으로 재난 대응 역량을 체계적으로 함양할 수 있는 교육 전략의 개발과 적용이 필요하다.
