The migration of African refugees has escalated dramatically as a result of intersecting factors such as political instability, economic deprivation, social inequality, and the worsening climate crisis. In response to restrictive immigration policies in Europe and other developed regions, refugees are compelled to embark on perilous journeys, during which they are subjected to grave threats to life, systemic exploitation, and severe violations of human rights. Even after relocation, many continue to experience entrenched discrimination and social marginalization. To address these realities, the international community must establish institutional frameworks that guarantee safe migration and sustainable resettlement while expanding multidimensional support in areas such as education, healthcare, and social integration. At the same time, long-term solutions require confronting the structural causes of displacement—protracted civil wars, coups, regional conflicts, ecological breakdown, and food insecurity. Without addressing these root causes, any attempt to resolve the refugee crisis will remain superficial and temporary. Ultimately, enabling refugees to return and to live peacefully in their homelands constitutes a moral and political responsibility of the global community. From a theological and missiological standpoint, the African refugee crisis represents a critical test of universal solidarity, justice, and compassion. The church is summoned to embody a theology of hospitality and reconciliation, to advocate for the protection of human dignity, and to participate in God’s mission (missio Dei) through acts of diakonia and prophetic witness. Thus, the plight of African refugees must not only be viewed as a humanitarian emergency but also as a missional calling that demands transformative engagement for the sake of peace, justice, and the holistic flourishing of displaced peoples.

아프리카의 이주 난민은 정치적 불안, 경제적 빈곤, 사회적 불평등, 기후 위기 등 복합적 요인으로 인해 급격히 증가하고 있다. 그러나 유럽을 비 롯한 선진국이 난민 유입을 차단하면서 이들은 위험한 경로를 선택할 수밖 에 없으며, 그 과정에서 생명의 위협과 심각한 인권 침해를 경험한다. 이 주 이후에도 난민들은 구조적 차별과 사회적 배제에 직면하고 있다. 이러 한 현실에 대응하기 위해 국제 사회는 난민의 안전한 이동과 정착을 보장 하는 제도적 장치를 마련하고, 교육·의료·사회 통합 등 다차원적 지원을 확대해야 한다. 동시에 내전, 분쟁, 쿠데타, 기후·식량 위기 등 난민 발생 의 근본 원인을 해결하는 노력이 필수적이다. 이러한 구조적 문제 해결 없 이는 난민 문제의 근본적 완화가 불가능하다. 궁극적으로 난민들이 자국으 로 돌아가 평화롭게 정착할 수 있도록 하는 것이 국제 사회의 책무이다. 아 프리카 난민 문제는 인류 보편적 연대와 정의의 시험장이며, 교회와 선교 적 차원의 적극적 관심과 대응 또한 요구된다.
