According to statistics from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on August 4, 2024, 1,690 people were heat-related and the estimated death toll was 14. This is no exception for construction site workers as well as the general public. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, it is mandatory to have rest facilities that can be used during breaks so that workers can relieve physical fatigue and mental stress, but it is not activated due to the working conditions on the road and outside the building. Therefore, efforts are needed for the safety and health of workers at construction sites. In particular, workers’ rest areas include heat-related diseases as well as extreme weather conditions such as cold waves and heavy rains, and in the worst case, workers’ rest areas should include various factors such as insulation, ventilation, and heating and cooling systems, and should be studied and analyzed from various angles such as temperature control and humidity management inside the shelter in consideration of workers’ health and safety to provide an appropriate rest area. In this study, workers’ rest areas are manufactured or studied on a mobile basis to prevent heat diseases by improving workers’ working environments and to be activated for health and safety.
