Background: As dentistry becomes digitalized, dental hygiene education needs to implement curricula that strengthen software and artificial intelligence (AI) utilization competencies. Accordingly, this study aimed to identify the status of digital literacy-related courses in the dental hygiene department curriculum. Methods: The most recent curriculum posted on the websites of 89 dental hygiene departments nationwide was searched. Excluding two schools where the curriculum could not be confirmed, the subject names, year levels, and major status of digital literacy-related courses in 87 dental hygiene departments were analyzed. Results: Among dental hygiene departments, 44.8% offered digital literacy-related courses, Of these courses, 57.3% were digital and 3D-related, 18.3% were AI-related, 15.9% focused on big data and information utilization, and 8.5% were VR-related. The titles of digital and 3D-related courses often combined the terms ‘dental hygiene’, ‘clinical’, ‘practical’, ‘radiology’, and ‘image’, while the titles of AI-related courses combined the terms ‘generative’, ‘health insurance’, and ‘claim’. Six out of seven VR-related courses combined the term ‘anatomy’. Conclusion: In dental hygiene education, it is necessary to pay more attention to the development of related curricula to foster digital literacy in dental hygiene students, and in particular, it is necessary to develop teaching methods that can apply AI and VR in dental hygiene major classes.

연구의 배경 및 목적: 치과의 디지털화에 따라 치위생교육에서 SW·AI 활용 역량을 강화하기 위한 교육과정이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 전국 치위생(학)과의 교과과정을 확인하여 디지털 리터러시 관련 교과목의 개설 현황을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 2025년 3월 1일~2025년 5월 15일까지 전국 89개의 치위생(학)과 웹사이트에 게시된 가장 최신의 교과 과정을 검색하였다. 이 중 교과과정을 확인할 수 없는 2개 학교를 제외하고 87개 치위생(학)과의 디지털 리터러시 관련 교과목의 과목명, 이수 학년, 전공 여부를 분석하였다. 결과: 디지털 리터러시 관련 교과목을 개설한 경우는 44.8%였으며 개설된 과목을 살펴보면, 디지털 및 3D 관련 (57.3%), AI 관련(18.3%), 빅데이터와 정보활용 관련 교과목(15.9%), VR(8.5%) 관련 교과목 순서로 많았다. 디지털 및 3D 관련 교과목명은 ‘치위생’, ‘임상’, ‘실무’, ‘방사선’, ‘영상’ 용어가 결합된 경우가 많았고, AI 관련 교과목명은 ‘생성형’, ‘건강보험’, ‘청구’ 용어 등과 결합하였다. VR 관련 교과목은 7개 중 6개가 ‘해부학’ 용어와 결합하였다. 결론: 치위생교육에서 치위생(학)과 학생들의 디지털 리터러시 역량을 향상시키는데 도움이 되는 교과운영과 함 께 VR과 같은 미래학습도구를 적용할 수 있는 교수법이 개발될 필요가 있다．
