This paper aims to overcome the issue of ethical subjects risen in the connection of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies with the human body by the conception of selfhood in Charles Taylor. Recently, AI has evolved into physical AI, capable of perceiving and adapting to the physical world and manipulating objects through sensors and actuators that interact with the environment. As a sort of physical embodiment, AI and humans may require each other; however, their convergence entails the risk of undermining human subjectivity. Taylor's selfhood reveals the gravity of this problem and provides a normative foundation—namely, the possibility of a human-related ethics—for its resolution. Furthermore, the conception of selfhood offers important implications for addressing moral educational challenges in the forthcoming era of physical AI.

이번 연구의 목적은 인공지능(AI) 기술이 인간의 몸과 결합할 때 발생하는 윤리적 주체의 문제를 규명하고, 이를 찰스 테일러의 자기성 개념을 토대로 극복할 가능성을 모색하는 것이다. 최근 AI는 센서와 구동기를 통해 세계와 상호작용하며 물리적 세계를 지각·적응하고 물 체를 조작할 수 있는 물리적 AI로 진화하고 있다. 물리적 구현체로서 AI와 인간은 서로를 필요로 하나, 그 결합은 인간 주체성을 훼손할 위 험을 내포한다. 테일러의 자기성은 이 문제의 심각성을 드러내고 이를 극복할 수 있는 규범적 토대, 즉 인간 관련적 윤리의 가능성을 제공한 다. 나아가 자기성 개념은 곧 도래할 물리적 AI 시대의 도덕과교육 문 제에 대응할 수 있는 중요한 시사점을 제시한다.
