미용 전공 대학생의 수업 스트레스가 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향에서 그릿의 매개효과
The mediating effect of grit in the effect of class stress on college life adaptation of beauty college students
This study aimed to analyze the effect of course-related stress on college life adaptation among students majoring in cosmetology and to examine the mediating role of grit in this relationship. As academic stress and emotional burdens among college students continue to rise, it is necessary to empirically explore how individual internal resources influence their adaptation to college life. In particular, cosmetology majors often experience high levels of academic stress due to practice-oriented education and competitive evaluation environments, demonstrating the importance of understanding how they adapt to college life. A survey was conducted among college students majoring in beauty-related fields, and the collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 25.0. The results indicated that course stress had significant correlations with both college life adaptation and grit, and that grit partially mediated the relationship between course stress and college life adaptation. These findings suggest that while course stress directly exerts a negative influence on students’ adaptation to college life, this effect can be alleviated through grit, an internal personal resource. The identification of a partial, rather than full, mediating effect implies that other factors such as resilience, self-regulated learning, and social support may also contribute to this relationship. Given that cosmetology students engage in repetitive, skill-based training that demands a high degree of perseverance, it is crucial to identify how such internal factors affect their adaptation to college life. This study is academically and educationally significant in that it empirically examines the role and impact of grit within the unique learning environment of cosmetology education.
