This study empirically analyzed the impact of introducing electronic voting systems on corporate financial performance. While electronic voting systems were introduced to enhance the convenience of exercising voting rights and improve governance transparency, their economic effects have not been clearly verified. This study set the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) and operating cash flow (OCF) as dependent variables and analyzed 4,214 samples using propensity score matching (PSM) on listed companies from 2012 to 2018. The analysis confirmed that electronic voting systems significantly reduce capital costs, while no significant relationship was found with operating cash flow. Based on these empirical results, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of electronic voting systems in terms of financial performance and provides a basis for future system expansion and policy design.

본 연구는 전자투표제도 도입이 기업의 재무성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 전자투표제도는 의결권 행사 편의성과 지배구조 투명성 제고를 위해 도입되었으나 경제적 효과는 명확히 검증되지 않았다. 본 연구는 자본비용 (WACC)과 영업현금흐름(OCF)을 종속변수로 설정하고 2012~2018년 상장기업을 대상으로 PSM을 적용해 4,214개 표본 을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 전자투표제도는 자본비용을 유의하게 낮추는 효과가 확인되었으며, 영업현금흐름과는 유의한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 실증 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 전자투표제도의 실효성을 재무성과 측면에서 제시하였으 며, 향후 제도 확산과 정책 설계의 근거자료로 활용될 수 있다.
