Application of Occupation-Based Practice 2.0 (OBP 2.0) in Healthcare Settings : A Case Study
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the clinical utility of Occupation-Based Practice 2.0 in rehabilitation hospital clients, where implementing occupation-based practice can be challenging. By comparing occupational dysfunction and physical function, this study explored their applicability in occupational therapy settings. Methods: Two patients with chronic stroke who consented to participate in the pre-interviews were selected for the study. Occupation-Based Practice 2.0 was implemented for 8 weeks, twice a week, for 30 minutes per session. To assess its effectiveness, occupational dysfunction and belief conflicts were evaluated. The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) was utilized to identify clients' occupational performance issues, and four assessment tools were employed to evaluate functional performance: the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K), Manual Function Test (MFT), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and Modified Barthel Index (MBI). Assessments were conducted at three time points: initial, midterm (after 4 weeks), and final (after 8 weeks). Results: The results demonstrated improvements in occupational dysfunction and belief conflict evaluations following Occupation-Based Practice intervention. The COPM outcomes revealed significant improvements in both performance and satisfaction scores when comparing the initial and final assessments of both clients. Among the four functional performance assessment tools, only the MBI score increased, while the MMSE-K, MFT, and BBS showed no changes. Conclusion: Occupation-Based Practice 2.0 is a clinically efficacious intervention method that enhances clients' ADL and occupational performance while reducing factors that limit occupational participation.

또한 대상자의 작업수행 문제점을 파악하기 위해 Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM)을 사용하였고, 수행기능을 평가하기 위해 4가지의 평가도구를 사용하였다(Mimi-Mental State Examination; MMSE-K, Manual Function Test; MFT, Berg's Balance Scale; BBS, Modified Barthel Index; MBI).
