The purpose of this study is to examine Sidney Greidanus’s Christ-centered homiletic theory as an alternative for restoring “biblical preaching” in the Korean church pulpit. This study employs a comprehensive analysis of various homileticians' arguments regarding why biblical preaching must necessarily be Christ-centered. In particular, it extensively incorporates Sidney Greidanus’s understanding and methodology of Christ-centered preaching. To explore alternatives for overcoming the limitations of Korean preaching, this study is structured in three stages. First, it analyzes the definition and potential dangers of exemplary preaching, along with examples from Korean church practice. Second, it examines the definition and limitations of redemptive-historical preaching, as well as its shortcomings in the Korean context. Third, it proposes a homiletical direction for the Korean church based on Sidney Greidanus’s Christ-centered preaching theory. This study aims to demonstrate that contemporary preaching, grounded in a Christ-centered homiletic, is itself a redemptive event, thereby assisting in the application of the biblical message to audiences living in the postmodern context of the 21st century. This study not only seeks to deepen the understanding of various homiletical themes necessary for Christ-centered preaching, but also aims to establish a methodological legitimacy for such an approach. Furthermore, by proposing "audience exegesis and concrete application" as a means to supplement the limitations of Christ-centered preaching, this study hopes to inspire a recovery of the pulpit and a spiritual renewal within the Korean church.

본 연구의 목적은 한국교회 설교 강단 가운데 ‘성경적 설교’를 회복하기 위한 대안으로서 시드니 그레이다누스(Sidney Greidanus)의 그리스도 중심적 설교론을 연구하는 데 있다. 본 연구의 방법은 성경적 설교는 왜 그리스도 중심적 설교여야만 하는가에 대해 지금까지 연구한 다양한 설 교학자들의 주장들을 종합적으로 활용하였다. 특히 그레이다누스의 그리스도 중심적 설교의 이해 와 방법론들을 포괄적으로 사용하고 있다. 한국교회 설교의 한계점을 극복하기 위한 대안을 모색하기 위해 본 연구는 세 단계로 구성된 다. 첫째, 모범적 설교에 대한 정의와 위험성, 한국교회 모범적 설교의 실례를 분석한다. 둘째, 구속사적 설교의 정의와 한계점, 한국교회 구속사적 설교의 한계를 고찰한다. 셋째, 시드니 그레 이다누스의 그리스도 중심적 설교론을 중심으로 한국교회 설교의 방향성에 대해 대안을 제시한 다. 본 연구는 그리스도 중심적 설교론을 바탕으로 오늘날의 설교 또한 구속적 사건임을 적극적으 로 밝힘으로써 21세기 포스트모던 시대를 살아가는 청중들에게 메시지를 적용하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다. 본 연구는 그리스도 중심적 설교를 위해 필요한 다양한 논의 설교적 주제들에 대한 논의 를 이해할 뿐만 아니라 그리스도 중심적 설교를 위한 방법론상 정당성을 제공하게 될 것이다. 더 나아가 그리스도 중심적 설교의 한계점도 보완할 수 있는 ‘청중주해와 청중을 향한 구체적인 적 용’을 통해 한국교회 설교자들의 마음에서 설교 강단의 회복과 한국교회 부흥을 소망하길 기대한다.
