Purpose : This study analyzes the appropriateness of using Incoterms as a reference price in global e-marketplace platforms, identifies the problems caused by using the FOB terms in current e-marketplace platforms and proposes a standard model to address current issues in B2B cross-border e-commerce. Research design, data, methodology : This study examines major B2B platforms (e.g., Alibaba, EC21, Global Sources) through website analysis, focusing on their default reference price systems. Results : Although the FOB is commonly used as the default reference price in current e-marketplace platforms, it is unsuitable for containerized or multi-modal shipments prevalent in e-marketplaces, leading to gaps in risk transfer, cost allocation, and responsibility between buyers and sellers. Conclusions : The conventional FOB-based reference price system in global e-marketplaces is inadequate for contemporary e-commerce practices. EXW and FCA are proposed as optimal standard models for reference prices, as they better account for export customs restrictions in certain countries and enhance transaction transparency, efficiency, and trust and are also easier to use for calculating the costs reflected in the unit price. Establishing appropriate standardized trade terms at this early stage of digital trade practice is crucial for sustainable growth, efficiency, and the long-term credibility of global e-marketplace platforms. This study offers a practical guideline for improving trade condition frameworks in cross-border e-commerce.

본 연구는 글로벌 B2B e-marketplace에서 사용되는 기준가격(reference price)의 표시실태를 Alibaba, EC21, Global Sources 등 주요 플랫폼 분석을 통해 확인하였고, 이들 플랫폼에서 해상 운송에 적용되는 FOB 조건을 기준가격으로 설정하거나 비용산출이 모호한 단가만을 표시하 고 있음을 확인하였다. 글로벌 e-marketplace에서 거래되는 상품은 컨테이너화물로 해상 및 내 수로 조건인 FOB조건을 사용하는 것이 부적합하고, 복합운송에 적합한 조건으로 대체되어야 한다. FOB 조건의 사용으로 인한 거래조건의 오용은 인도 및 위험 분기점의 불명확성, 비용 산정 기준의 모호성, 보험 커버리지의 공백 등 다양한 문제를 야기한다. 이에 본 연구는 글로 벌 e-marketplace에서 적합한 기준가격 조건으로 인코텀즈의 모든 운송수단에 사용가능한 조건 중 EXW(Ex Works)조건과 FCA(Free Carrier)조건을 제안한다. 공급업자의 작업장과 최종목적 지가 상이한 상황에서 가격비교가 용이한 조건은 EXW조건일 것이지만, 외국인 구매자가 수 출통관에 제약이 있는 국가가 있기 때문에 이를 고려하면 FCA조건도 적합하다고 할 수 있다. 글로벌 전자상거래 초기단계에 올바른 거래조건을 표준화하여 사용하는 것이 관습형성과 분 쟁예방에 도움이 될 것이므로, 본 연구는 글로벌 e-Marketplace에서의 기준가격으로 EXW와 FCA 조건을 제언하며, 이는 글로벌 e-marketplace의 신뢰성, 효율성, 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 방향등이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
