This study analyzed the impact of family relationships on interpersonal competence in adults, specifically examining the interactive effects of marital and parent-child relationships. An online survey was conducted with 250 married adults with children of elementary school age or older. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and PROCESS Macro (Model 1) moderation analysis were performed using SPSS 28.0. The results revealed that, first, higher marital quality was associated with improved interpersonal competence. Second, in the parent-child relationship, intimacy and open communication had positive effects, while conflict had negative effects. Third, the interaction effect between the two relationships was significant, such that the more positive the parent-child relationship, the stronger the influence of marital relationships. These results support family systems theory and suggest that the quality of family relationships is a crucial factor in enhancing adults' social competence.

본 연구는 성인의 가족 내 관계가 대인관계 능력에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 특히 부부관계와 부모-자녀관계의 상호작 용 효과를 검증하였다. 초등학생 이상의 자녀를 둔 기혼 성인 250명을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 실시하였으며, SPSS 28.0 을 활용해 기술통계, 상관분석, 회귀분석 및 PROCESS Macro(Model 1) 조절분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째 부부관 계의 질이 높을수록 대인관계 능력이 향상되었다. 둘째 부모-자녀관계에서는 친밀감과 개방적 의사소통이 긍정적, 갈등이 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째 두 관계 간 상호작용 효과가 유의하여, 부모-자녀관계가 긍정적일수록 부부관계의 영향이 강화되었다. 이러한 결과는 가족체계이론을 지지하며, 가족관계의 질이 성인의 사회적 역량 강화에 중요한 요인임을 시사 한다.
