The purpose of this study was to explore the formation and development of a novice physical education teacher educator’s PCK through an autoethnographic inquiry. Using the framework of “teacher socialization,” the study examined how professional expertise as a teacher educator was expanded through the stages of anticipatory, professional, and occupational socialization. Data were collected from self-reflection materials, memory-based narratives, and cultural records. They were analyzed following Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis procedure. The findings revealed that diverse experiences of physical activity during school years helped internalize the intrinsic value of physical education and fostered positive attitudes, thereby laying the foundation for CK. Academic learning and teaching assistant experiences in undergraduate and graduate programs contributed to the systematization of pedagogical knowledge PK and PCK. In addition, experiences as a Taekwondo instructor and as a teaching assistant provided opportunities to connect theory and practice, while reflective practice and interactions with critical colleagues during the occupational socialization stage refined and advanced pedagogical knowledge. These results indicate that the PCK of teacher educators is not merely an accumulation of knowledge but is progressively shaped through experience, reflection, and social interaction. By empirically illustrating the professional development process of a teacher educator, this study offers important implications for the design and implementation of teacher educator preparation programs targeting doctoral students and prospective faculty.

본 연구는 초임 체육교사교육자의 생애적 경험을 토대로 교수내용지식(Pedagogical Content Knowledge: PCK)의 형성과 발달 과정을 탐구한 자문화기술지 연구이다. ‘교사 사회화’ 이론을 분석 의 틀로 삼아 예상적, 전문적, 직업적 사회화 단계를 거치며 교사교육자로서의 전문성이 어떻게 확 장되었는지를 살펴보았다. 연구자는 자기 성찰 자료, 기억 자료, 문화적 기록물을 수집하여 Braun과 Clarke(2006)의 주제분석 절차에 따라 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학창 시절의 다양한 체육 참여 경험은 체육의 본질적 가치와 긍정적 태도를 내면화하게 하여 내용지식(CK)의 기반이 되었으며, 대학과 대 학원에서의 전공 학습과 교육조교 활동은 교육학 지식(PK)과 교수내용지식(PCK)의 체계화를 가능하 게 했다. 또한 태권도 사범 경험과 교수 보조 활동은 이론과 실제를 연결하는 기회를 제공하였고, 직업 사회화 단계에서는 반성적 실천과 비판적 동료와의 상호작용을 통해 교수 지식이 정제·세련화 되었다. 이러한 결과는 교사교육자의 PCK가 단순한 지식 축적이 아니라 경험, 성찰, 사회적 관계 속 에서 점진적으로 형성됨을 보여준다. 본 연구는 교사교육자의 전문성 발달 과정을 심층적으로 규명 함으로써, 박사과정생과 예비 교수 대상의 교사교육자 양성 프로그램 설계 및 운영에 중요한 시사 점을 제공한다.
