This study, conducted as an action research project for lower elementary students, explored an applied drama program to cultivate ecological citizenship as one method for practicing the humanization of climate. It concluded that the perspective, approach, format, and strategies of climate education must change, and that a shift in perspective and approach is needed in the context of 'humanizing climate change' and ‘ecocivicism’. It particularly emphasizes that education enhancing ‘ecological citizenship’ and ‘ecological sensitivity’ is needed for the ‘future generation’—adolescents—for whom the climate crisis is immediately linked to ‘survival’. As a multisensory experiential method tailored to adolescent characteristics, ‘applied drama’ holds diverse potential as a new tool for this purpose, making research on it meaningful and necessary. Considering that current prior research on climate environment or ecological citizenship is concentrated on upper elementary grades and above, practical research on ecological citizenship for lower elementary grades is highly necessary. This study implemented an arts-science integrated applied drama program for second-grade elementary students over 12 sessions totaling 24 hours. Utilizing diverse methods such as shadow play, process drama, hot seating, role-playing, forum theater, and stage performance presentations, this applied drama program for cultivating ecological citizenship was executed. The results indicate that this applied drama program for cultivating ecological citizenship is meaningful for lower elementary students and useful for fostering ecological citizenship.

기후의 인간화 작업을 실천할 수 있는 하나의 방법으로 생태시민성을 함양시킬 수 있는 응용드라마 프 로그램을 초등저학년생 대상 실행연구로 진행한 본 연구는 기후환경의 교육의 관점과 접근법, 형식과 전략이 변화되어야 하며, ‘기후변화의 인간화’ 그리고 ‘생태시민성’에서 그 관점과 접근법의 변화가 필요 한 상황에서 생태시민성의 가치와 함의를 실현시킬 수 있는 새로운 도구적 교육방법을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 기후위기가 ‘생존’의 문제로 즉각적으로 연결되는 ‘미래세대’, 즉 청소년 세대에게 ‘생태시민성’과 ‘생태감수성’을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육이 필요하며, 청소년의 특성에 맞춘 공감각적 체험 적 방법으로서 ‘응용드라마’는 새로운 도구로써 활용될 수 있는 다양한 가능성을 지니고 있기에 그에 대 한 연구는 유의미하며 필요하다는 점을 역설한다. 현재 기후환경이나 생태시민성 관련 선행연구들이 초 등학교 고학년이상을 대상으로 하는 연구로 집중되어 있는 상황을 고려할 때, 초등저학년 생태시민성 실행연구는 매우 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구는 초등학교 2학년생을 대상으로 12회기 24시간에 걸쳐 과학 증강현실(AR), 소리코딩(메이키메이키)), 그림자극, 과정드라마, 핫시팅, 역할극, 토론극, 무대공연발표 등의 다양한 방법을 활용한 예술과학융합 응용드라마 프로그램을 실행함으로써, 이러한 생태시민성 함 양 응용드라마 프로그램이 초등저학년에게 유의미하고, 생태시민성 함양의 측면에서 유용하다는 결과 를 도출해내었다.
