He Ge-en's Dan People Investigation Report systematically documents population structures, agricultural conditions, and economic patterns in typical Dan villages such as Luoxi洛溪, Nanpu南浦, and Wanqingsha万顷沙, supplemented with maps and quantitative data. The report's detailed maps hold significant historical value. The statistics in the report are diverse, covering population censuses, farmland scale surveys, village income statistics, and agricultural production cost investigations. Population data include household size, family member composition, and gender ratios. Farmland statistics encompass per-household cultivation scale and land distribution among farming households. Village income records include family size, annual household income, total production costs, and average annual earnings per household. Agricultural production cost surveys cover rent, seeds, fertilizers, labor wages, and taxes. Based on this, one can deeply compare the differences between aquatic, suburban, and farming-oriented Dan villages, revealing the group differentiation trajectory of Dan people in the Pearl River Delta during the Republican period as they transitioned from water to land. This provides empirical support for studying the social mobility of aquatic populations.
