- The rapid decline in the domestic working-age population due to low birth rates and aging is deepening the labor shortage problem. As an alternative, the demand for foreign workers, especially non-professional workers(E-9) who enter the country through the employment permit system, is increasing. Based on this awareness of the problem, this study empirically analyzes the factors affecting the housing satisfaction of non-professional foreign workers(E-9) and analyzes the effect of housing satisfaction and job satisfaction on their intention to migrate using a structural equation model. This study analyzed the survey data on non-professional foreign workers(E-9) employed through the employment permit system from the ｢2020 Survey on the Status of Foreign Workers｣ conducted by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. In conclusion, the housing environment of non-professional employment(E-9) foreign workers is a factor that affects not only short-term labor force but also their productivity, local community settlement, and national image in the mid- to long-term. This study reflects this reality and aims to provide more sustainable and inclusive policy implications.
