This study aimed to examine the reliability between the evaluations of the AI-based machine learning system "HTP ML-1" and those of art therapy experts in the House-Tree-Person (HTP) drawing test conducted with kindergarten children. The participants were 50 five-year-old children enrolled in a kindergarten located in City A, Chungcheongnam-do. After obtaining written consent from their guardians, the children completed the HTP drawings at home using A4 paper, a pencil, and an eraser. The completed drawings were photographed using a smartphone and submitted online. Each drawing was independently evaluated by the HTP ML-1 system and three experts with over ten years of clinical experience. The evaluation items combined nominal and ordinal scales, and inter-rater agreement was calculated using a percentage-based method. The results showed that: first, for the "house" drawings, the reliability between the AI and the experts ranged from 0.83 to 0.98; second, for the "tree" drawings, the reliability ranged from 0.65 to 0.98; and third, for the "person" drawings, the reliability ranged from 0.77 to 1.00 for boys and from 0.76 to 1.00 for girls. These findings indicate that the AI-based evaluation system achieved statistically significant reliability comparable to expert assessments for key indicators of the HTP test. However, some sub-items (e.g., leaves, flowers, fruits) did not meet the 0.75 reliability threshold suggested by prior studies, highlighting the need to improve the feature recognition algorithm. This study suggests that the AI-based HTP evaluation system may serve as an effective supplementary tool to expert assessment in clinical settings. Future studies are recommended to expand age-specific samples and enhance algorithmic precision.

본 연구는 유치원 아동을 대상으로 실시한 HTP(집-나무-사람) 그림검사에서 인공지능 기반 ‘기계학습장치-1(HTP ML-1)’과 미술심리상담 전문가 간의 평가의 신뢰도를 검증하 는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 충청남도 A시 소재 유치원 만 5세 아동 50명이며, 보호자 의 서면동의를 받은 후 가정에서 A4 용지와 연필, 지우개를 사용해 HTP 그림을 완성하였 다. 완성된 그림은 스마트폰으로 촬영하여 온라인을 통해 제출하였으며, 수집된 그림은 HTP ‘기계학습장치-1’과 임상경험 10년 이상의 전문가 3인이 각각 독립적으로 평가하였 다. 평가 항목은 명명척도와 서열척도를 혼합한 형태로 구성되었고, 평가자 간 일치도 산 출에는 백분율 방식을 적용하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, ‘집’ 그림의 경우 인공지능과 전문가 간 신뢰도는 0.83～0.98로 나타났다. 둘째, ‘나무’ 그림은 0.65～0.98범위를 보였다. 셋째, ‘사 람’ 그림은 남아 0.77～1.00, 여아 0.76～1.00으로 측정되었다. 이러한 결과는 인공지능 기반 평가체계가 HTP 주요 지표에서 전문가 평가와 통계적으로 유의한 신뢰도를 달성했음을 보여준다. 그러나 일부 세부항목(나뭇잎, 꽃, 열매 등)은 선행연구 신뢰도 기준선 0.75에 미 달하여 특징 인식 알고리즘의 성능 개선이 요구된다. 본 연구는 인공지능 기반 HTP 평가 체계가 임상 현장에서 전문가 평가를 보조하는 효과적 도구로 기능할 수 있음을 시사하며, 후속 연구에서는 다양한 연령별 표본 확장과 알고리즘 정밀도 향상의 필요성을 제언한다.
