Purpose : This study aims to examine the impact of trade education for foreign residents in Korea on export performance. The purpose is to provide a foundational basis for addressing trade manpower shortages and establishing a framework for cultivating foreign trade professionals. Design, data, methodology : A mixed-method approach was employed. To analyze the relationship between trade education and export performance among foreign residents, prior literature was reviewed, a research model was developed, and survey data were used to test proposed hypotheses. Findings : The results demonstrate that trade education for foreign residents has a positive effect on export performance. In particular, trade expert competencies-such as communication, localization, and marketing and technology skills-along with application methods of trade education, were found to significantly contribute to export performance. Furthermore, the study highlights the need for digital trade education and practice-oriented training such as simulation-based and task-centered programs.

저출산·고령화에 따른 인구수 감소는 생산가능인구 감소로 이어져 산업별 전문가 부족 현상을 초래한다. 인력난 해소를 위해 EU, 캐나다, 호주, 일본 등은 외국인 인력 유치에 힘쓰고 있다. 우리나라도 기업당 고용 외국인 규모 확대, 취업 허가 확대 등의 노력을 기울이고 있으나 역부 족이다. 저숙련 외국인 확보와 해외 거주 외국인 유치만으로 양·질의 무역 인력 보충에는 한계 가 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 인력확보 방법 외에 국내 체류 외국인에게 무역을 교육하여 지식근 로자를 확보하고 양·질의 외국인 무역 인력을 양성하는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 따라서 국내 체류 외국인 무역교육이 수출성과에 미치는 영향을 선제적으로 살펴본다. 혼합연구방법을 사 용한 결과, 무역 전문인력 역량(커뮤니케이션, 지역특화, 기술개발·마케팅)과 무역교육 활용방 법이 수출성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한, 디지털 무역교육의 필요성과 무역실무 시뮬레이션과 같은 임무 중심형 교육의 필요성이 제기되었다.
