This study examined the relationships among self-directed learning ability, self-esteem, and depression in nursing students, and identified factors influencing self-directed learning ability. Data were collected from 323 students enrolled in two universities between March 5 and May 30, 2025, using a descriptive correlational reserch design. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 29.0. The results showed that self-directed learning ability was positively correlated with self-esteem (r = .29, p < .001) and negatively correlated with depression (r = –.16, p < .01). Self-esteem and depression were also significantly correlated (r = –.40, p < .001). Multiple regression analysis indicated that self-esteem (β = .26) and major satisfaction (β = –.18) were significant predictors of self-directed learning ability, explaning 21.1% of the variance. These findings suggest that enhancing self-esteem and improving satisfaction with one’s major may effectively strengthen nursing students’ self-directed learning ability, thereby supporting both their academic achievement and their preparedness as future nursing professionals.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 자기주도적학습능력과 자아존중감, 우울의 관계를 확인하고 자기주도적학습능력에 영 향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고자 시행하였다. 연구대상 및 자료수집은 2025년 03월 5일부터 05월 30일까지 2개교의 대학생 323명을 대상으로 하였고, 연구 설계는 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 통계 분석은 SPSS 29.0 버전을 사용하였 다. 연구 결과, 간호대학생의 자기주도적학습능력은 자아존중감(r=.29, p<.001)과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였으나, 우울감(r=-.16, p<.01)과는 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 자아존중감과 우울도 유의한 음의 상관관계를(r=-.40, p<.001) 보였다. 자기주도적학습능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자아존중감(β=.26)과 전공만족도이었으며(β=-.18) 설명력은 21.1%이었다. 따라서 교육자는 학습자 중심의 교육 전략과 함께 심리·정서적 지원 프로그램을 병행함으로써, 학생들의 학업 성취뿐만 아니라 미래 간호 전문인으로서의 자기주도적학습 역량도 효과적으로 강화할 수 있을 것이다.
