This study conducted research on capstone design with a focus on students majoring in art and discussed its educational value and potential curriculum improvement. Capstone design is a project-based educational program that synthesizes specialized knowledge from university curricula to propose solutions to problems in the industrial field. Implementing capstone design in practice-oriented majors like art can not only improve students' practical problem-solving skills and creativity but also provide hands-on opportunities that foster collaborative capabilities. Based on international trends and case studies in art and capstone design, this study specifically examined the practical application of capstone design in music education. This study planned individual and team projects involving AI-based art education activities and community-linked performing arts. The purpose was to provide a foundation for the use of diverse problem-solving methods and practical applications of capstone design in arts education. Furthermore, it aimed to enhance students' career paths and expertise in arts education through hands-on experience in their major, ultimately contributing to professional development needed to advance regional cultural policies and arts-based projects.

본 연구는 대학에서 예술 전공 학생을 대상으로 한 학기 동안 캡스톤디자인 수업을 운영 하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 교육적 시사점과 교과목 개선의 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 예술과 같 은 실기 전공의 교과목에서 캡스톤디자인 형태로 수업을 운영하는 것은 실제적인 문제해결 능력과 창 의성뿐만 아니라, 협업 역량을 기를 수 있는 실질적인 학습 기회가 될 수 있다. 연구 내용은 예술교과와 캡스톤디자인의 국제적 동향과 사례를 검토하고, 특히 음악교과에서의 실 제 적용을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 음악분야의 캡스톤디자인에서는 개인 및 팀별 프로젝트로 AI기반의 예술교육 활동과 지역연계 공연예술을 기획함으로써, 예술교육에서 다양한 문제해결 방식과 실무 적용 의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 또한 학생들이 전공 교과의 현장 경험을 통해 예술교육에 대한 진로 인식과 전문성을 강화하며, 나아가 지역 문화정책과 예술 기반 사업에 필요한 전문 인력 양성에 기여하 는데 그 의의가 있다.
