This article examines the possibility that a theological approach may be more appropriate than a literary one for interpreting Nazi propaganda literature, particularly Nazi propaganda poems, through a discussion of political religion and political theology. Accordingly, this study is structured as follows: Chapter II is 'The Relationship Between Political Religion and National Socialism', Chapter III is 'The Relationship Between Political Theology and National Socialism', and Chapter IV is 'Cases Confirming the Relationship Between Political Theology and Nazi Propaganda literature' to explain and show cases in which political theology served as a theoretical starting point for interpreting Nazi propaganda poems. Furthermore, by examining Nazi propaganda poems from the Third Reich under Hitler, this study confirms that political theological theory is the optimal method for interpreting propaganda poems. Although National Socialist propaganda texts are not biblical or holy texts in the Christian sense, they nevertheless contain a certain 'religious' dimension. National Socialist propaganda poets frequently employed religious language while writing texts for the anti-religious National Socialist ideology. They adopted religious isotopes (holy, bless, eternal, sinner, ...) or theological concepts (God, heaven, savior, ...) to describe their own secular ideology. They theologized the value of secular realities (people, blood, soil, empire, flag, leader), thereby making them appear as something religious and transcendent. Precisely because this use of language appears frequently in Nazi propaganda poetry, the usual methods of literary studies no longer seem sufficient for interpreting this poetry. Since the propaganda texts often contain religious or religion-like content, the authors of these texts are viewed as 'revealers' of National Socialist ideology, and the readers of the texts as devout adherents of the ideology, one can conclude that the literary scholars appear more like theologians or perhaps a kind of secular biblical scholar. When one encounters secularized religious isotopes or theologized secular concepts in these texts, the conventional methods of literary studies will not be sufficient for a complete understanding of the texts. A combination with a (political) theological interpretation of the texts seems to be a more appropriate methodology.

본 논문은 나치의 선전문학, 특히 나치 선전시의 해석에 있어 문학적 해석방식보다 신학적 해석방식이 적절할 수 있다는 점을 정치적 종교, 정치적 신학에 대한 논의를 통해 고찰하고자 한다. 이 에 따라 본 연구는 정치적 신학이 나치의 선전문학를 해석하는 이론적 단초가 되었음을 설명하고 그 사 례를 보여주기 위해 본론의 II 장은 정치적 종교와 국가사회주의의 관계, III 장은 정치적 신학과 국가 사회주의의 관계, IV 장은 정치적 신학과 나치 선전시의 관계를 확인하는 사례로 구성하였다. 그리고 히틀러가 집권했던 제3 제국의 나치 선전시를 직접 고찰함으로써 정치적 신학 이론이 선전시 해석을 위한 최적의 방법이라는 사실을 확인하였다. 나치의 선전 텍스트들은 기독교적 의미의 성경이나 신성 한 텍스트는 아니지만, 텍스트 내에 특정한 종교적 내용이 포함되어 있다. 나치의 선전 작가와 시인들 은 반종교적인 나치 이데올로기를 위한 글을 쓸 때 자주 종교적 언어를 사용했다. 그들은 종교적인 의 미의 어휘들(거룩함, 축복함, 영원함, 죄인 등), 신학 개념들(하나님, 천국, 구세주 등)을 사용함으로써 신성하지 않은 그들의 반종교적 이데올로기를 설명했다. 이외에도 “민족, 혈통, 대지, 제국, 깃발, 지도 자” 등 세속적 단어들을 신학화하여 종교적이고 초월적인 것으로 보이게 했다. 이런 언어 용법이 선전 시의 여러 곳에서 나타나므로 일반적 학문연구 방법은 나치시를 해석하는 데 충분하지 않다. 나치 선전 텍스트는 종교적 내용을 포함하며 이런 텍스트의 저자를 나치 이데올로기의 ‘계시자’로, 이 텍스트를 읽 는 독자를 이데올로기의 열렬한 지지자로 생각할 수 있으므로 나치 선전 문예학자들을 신학자 혹은 신 성 모독 성경 연구자로 볼 수 있다. 결국, 나치 선전 텍스트에서 우리가 종교적으로는 유사하지만, 세속화된 의미를 포함한 어휘와 신학화된 세속적 개념들을 만난다면 현재의 문학 연구 방법으로는 텍스트 를 완전히 이해하기 어려우므로, 정치적 신학의 해석과 연결하는 것이 가장 적절할 것이다.
