This study designed a project-based service-learning course grounded in substantive collaboration with the local community and analyzed its implementation and outcomes. The course was conducted in the form of team projects that applied students’ disciplinary knowledge to solving real-world problems within the local context, and it was structured around the four stages of service-learning: preparation, action, reflection, and celebration. In particular, the design thinking approach was employed to define problems aligned with learners’ needs and to generate creative solutions, thereby fostering the integrated development of key competencies such as disciplinary expertise, collaboration, and communication skills. Analysis of students’ reflective journals revealed diverse learning experiences, including the practical application of disciplinary knowledge, enhanced interaction with the community, and improvements in communication and teamwork abilities. The findings suggest that service-learning closely connected to the local community provides meaningful learning experiences that reflect actual community needs, ensures sustainability through reciprocal relationships, and positively contributes to students’ civic engagement and sense of social responsibility.

본 연구는 지역사회와의 실질적 협력을 기반으로 프로젝트형 서비스러닝 교과목을 설계하고 그 운영 사례와 성과를 분석한 것이다. 본 교과목은 전공 지식을 지역사회 맥 락 속 실제 문제 해결에 적용하는 팀별 프로젝트 형식으로 운영되었으며, 서비스러닝 의 ‘준비하기실천하기되돌아보기축하하기’ 라는 네 단계에 근거하여 수업을 구성하 였다. 특히 디자인씽킹 기법을 활용하여 교육 대상자의 요구를 반영한 문제 정의와 창 의적 해결 방안 도출이 이루어졌으며, 이를 통해 전공 역량, 협업 능력, 의사소통 역량 등 핵심 역량의 통합적 함양을 도모하였다. 수강생 성찰문 분석 결과, 전공 지식의 실 천적 활용, 지역사회와의 상호작용, 의사소통 및 협업 능력의 향상 등 다양한 성장 경험 이 확인되었다. 운영 결과, 지역사회와의 긴밀한 연계를 바탕으로 한 서비스러닝은 지 역의 실제 요구를 반영한 의미 있는 학습 경험을 제공하고, 상호 호혜적 관계를 통한 지 속 가능성을 확보하며, 학생들의 시민성과 사회적 책임감 함양에도 긍정적 영향을 미 침을 보여준다.
