This study examines the functional features of artificial intelligence(AI) music generators applicable to creative activities in music therapy and explores their clinical applicability. Six AI music generators—Suno, Udio, AIVA, CassetteAI, Riffusion, and Soundraw—were selected from Digital Ocean(2024) top ten AI music generators and additional tools released after 2022. These were compared and analyzed across three criteria: lyric-generation, music-composition, and service-support. The analysis revealed differences in Korean-language support, input methods, editing functions, track length, download options, and platform compatibility. In lyric generation, Suno and Udio showed superior performance in Korean recognition and generation, which indicates a therapeutic advantage when considering clients’ linguistic and cultural identity as well as the alignment of emotional expression. Music-composition functionalities ranged from simple icon-based tools to advanced MIDI-export integrating with professional digital audio workstations, enabling flexible use depending on clients’ musical abilities and therapeutic goals. Service-support also varied in track number and length, download options, platform compatibility, and mobile-device support, allowing music therapists to adopt tools suited to clinical needs and environments. Overall, these results suggest that AI music generators can function not only as technological tools but also as collaborative partners in shared music-making processes between therapists and clients.

본 연구는 음악치료 창작활동에 활용 가능한 인공지능(Artificial Intelligence: AI) 음악 생성 기의 기능을 분석하고, 임상적 적용 가능성 탐색을 목적으로 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 Digital Ocean(2024)에서 추천한 10대 AI 생성기와 2022년 이후 출시된 최신 AI 음악 생성기를 선별 해 6개의 AI 음악 생성기(Suno, Udio, AIVA, CassetteAI, Riffusion, Soundraw)를 최종 선정 하였다. 이를 가사 만들기, 음악 만들기, 서비스 지원 기능의 세 가지 기준에 따라 비교･분석하 였다. 분석 결과, 각 생성기는 한국어 지원, 입력 방식, 편집 기능, 생성 곡길이, 다운로드 옵션, 플랫폼 호환성 등에서 차이를 보였다. 가사 만들기에서는 Suno와 Udio가 한국어 인식･생성에 서 우수했고, 이는 내담자의 언어적･문화적 정체성과 감정 인식의 일치성을 고려할 때 치료적 강점임을 시사한다. 음악 만들기 기능은 아이콘 기반의 간편 작곡부터 MIDI 파일을 통한 전문 편곡 프로그램 연계까지 다양하게 구성되어 있어, 내담자의 음악적 역량과 치료 목적에 따라 활용 가능함을 보여주었다. 서비스 지원 기능은 생성 곡 수와 길이, 다운로드 옵션, 플랫폼 호 환성 및 모바일 기기 지원 여부 등에서 차이를 보여, 치료사가 음악치료 현장의 요구와 환경에 적합한 도구를 선별적으로 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 AI 음악 생성기가 단 순한 기술 도구를 넘어, 치료사와 내담자가 공동으로 창작 과정을 구성하는 공동 창작 파트너 로 기능할 수 있음을 제시한다.
