This study explores art therapists’ experiences of supervision and peer-vision to identify their practical needs and propose directions for effective implementation in clinical practice. Focus group interviews were conducted with seven art therapists with over five years of clinical experience, and the data were analyzed qualitatively. The analysis revealed five themes related to supervision—delaying supervision until difficulties arise, financial burdens, empowerment through supervision, distrust and disappointment, and increased dependency—and three themes related to peer-vision—relieving challenges through communication with colleagues, hesitancy to disclose personal limitations, and deepening professional understanding of peer-vision. These findings illustrate the constraints and emotional dynamics art therapists encounter in supervisory contexts and highlight the need for strategies such as reducing financial barriers, institutional support for group supervision, broader recognition of peer-vision, and strengthening supervisory competence. By drawing on practitioners’ lived experiences, this study offers meaningful insights into creating supportive institutional and relational environments for supervision and peer-vision in art therapy.

본 연구는 미술치료사의 슈퍼비전 및 피어비전 경험을 탐색하여 현장 중심의 실질적인 필요 성과 운영 방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 임상 경력 5년 이상의 미술치료사 7명 을 대상으로 표적집단면접을 실시하고, 수집된 면담 자료를 질적 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 슈퍼 비전에서는 16개 개념과 5개의 주제는 ‘어려움에 직면해서야 슈퍼비전을 받게 됨’, ‘비용에 대 한 부담감이 큼’, ‘슈퍼비전을 통해 치료사로서 힘을 얻음’, ‘슈퍼비전에 대한 불신과 실망감’, ‘슈퍼비전에 대한 의존성이 높아짐’이며, 피어비전에서는 9개 개념과 3개의 주제는 ‘동료 간 소 통을 통해 어려움을 해소함’, ‘동료에게 솔직하게 자신의 문제점을 드러내지 못함’, ‘피어비전에 대한 전문적 인식 심화’였다. 이러한 결과는 미술치료사들이 슈퍼비전과 피어비전 과정에서 겪 는 현실적 제약과 정서적 반응을 보여주며, 효과적인 운영을 위해 슈퍼비전 비용에 대한 대안 마련, 기관 차원의 그룹 슈퍼비전 지원, 피어비전에 대한 인식 확산, 슈퍼바이저의 역량 강화가 필요함을 시사하였다. 본 연구는 미술치료 현장에서의 실제 경험을 바탕으로 제도적･관계적 환 경 조성의 필요성과 운영 개선 방향을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
