This study comprehensively analyzed research trends in the education of students with North Korean backgrounds over the past 20 years and explored key issues in the field. To this end, abstracts from 120 articles published in domestic academic journals were collected and subjected to keyword network analysis using text mining techniques. After data cleaning and preprocessing, keywords were identified, followed by frequency analysis and centrality analysis(degree, closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector centralities) to determine the characteristics of major keywords. Research topics were then clustered using the CONCOR technique. The analysis classified studies on North Korean background students into eight clusters: (1) research on learning characteristics according to differences in educational content; (2) research on directions for adaptation support; (3) research on career-related factors; (4) research on language proficiency education; (5) research on learning experiences in South Korea; (6) research on inclusive education discourse; (7) research on educational policy support; and (8) research on teacher responses and practices. These findings indicate that research in this field has been conducted across multiple dimensions—including learning characteristics, adaptation, career development, language, learning experiences, inclusivity, policy, and teacher practice—thus providing a comprehensive overview of the research landscape. This study is significant in that it structures existing research on the education of students with North Korean backgrounds through network analysis and provides foundational data to inform future academic inquiry, educational practice, and policy development.

본 연구는 지난 20년간 발표된 북한배경학생 교육 관련 연구의 동향을 종합적으 로 분석하고, 해당 분야의 핵심 의제를 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 국내 학술지에 게재된 논문 120편의 초록을 수집하여 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용한 키 워드 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 절차는 데이터 정제와 전처리 과정을 거 쳐 핵심 키워드를 도출한 후, 빈도분석과 중심성 분석(연결 중심성, 근접 중심성, 매개 중심성, 위세 중심성)을 통해 주요 키워드의 특성을 파악하는 방식으로 진행 되었다. 그리고 CONCOR 기법을 적용하여 연구 주제를 군집화하였다. 연구 결과, 북한배경학생 교육 연구는 여덟 개의 군집으로 분류되었다. 첫째, 교육내용 차이에 따른 학습 특성의 차이 탐색 연구, 둘째, 적응을 지원하기 위한 방향성 연구, 셋째, 진로 관련 요인 연구, 넷째, 언어역량 교육 연구, 다섯째, 한국에서의 학습경험 탐 색 연구, 여섯째, 통합교육 담론 연구, 일곱째, 교육정책 지원 연구, 여덟째, 교사의 대응 및 실천이다. 이러한 결과는 북한배경학생 교육 연구가 학습 특성, 적응, 진 로, 언어, 학습 경험, 통합교육, 정책, 교사 요인 등 다차원적 영역에서 수행되었음 을 보여주며, 해당 분야의 연구 동향을 총체적으로 조망할 수 있게 한다. 본 연구는 북한배경학생 교육 연구를 네트워크 분석으로 구조화하여 제시함으로써, 향후 연 구의 심화와 교육적 실천, 정책 수립 과정에 활용 가능한 기초 자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
