Objective : To investigate the importance, effectiveness, and educational needs of sensory integration interventions among college students majoring in occupational therapy, and analyze their educational needs. Methods : A questionnaire based on a sensory integration intervention competency model was administered to 66 occupational therapy students who had completed courses related to sensory integration therapy and had practical experience in this area. The questionnaire examined general characteristics, the importance of sensory integration intervention competencies, performance, and educational needs. Results : The competency groups rated as most important were “personal characteristics” and “professionalism,” and the group with the highest performance was “personal characteristics.” Borich’s analysis ranked competency groups in the order of “professionalism” and “professional awareness,” and sub-areas in the order of “general knowledge of occupational therapy,” “education,” “policy interest,” “analytical skills,” and “evaluation skills.” Conclusion : Occupational therapy majors perceived “professionalism” as an essential competency for therapists performing sensory integration therapy, but recognized their own performance in this area as low. Thus, education in this competency area is most needed. This study reflected the educational needs of occupational therapy majors and suggested directions for school education to strengthen the competencies of occupational therapy majors as prospective therapists, including those entering the field after graduation.

목적 : 작업치료 전공 대학생을 대상으로 감각통합중재 역량의 중요도, 수행도, 교육 요구도를 알아보고 전공 학생에게 교육의 요구도를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 대학에서 작업치료를 전공하며 감각통합치료 관련 교과를 이수하고 실습 경험이 있는 전공 대 학생 66명을 대상으로 감각통합중재 역량모델을 활용한 설문지를 통하여 일반적 특성과 감각통합중재 역량의 중요도, 수행도, 교육 요구도를 조사하였다. 중요도와 수행도는 IPA 분석을 사용하였고, 교육 요 구도는 Borich를 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과 : 중요도가 가장 높게 나타난 역량군은 ‘개인적 특성’과 ‘전문성’이었고, 수행도가 가장 높은 역량군 은 ‘개인적 특성’이었다. Borich 분석을 통해 역량군 중에서 ‘전문성’, ‘전문가 의식’의 순으로, 하위 영역 은 ‘작업치료 일반지식’, ‘교육’, ‘정책적 관심’, ‘분석기술’, ‘평가기술’의 순으로 교육 요구도의 순위가 도 출되었다. 결론 : 작업치료 전공 대학생은 ‘전문성’ 역량군을 감각통합치료를 수행하는 치료사에게 중요하지만 본인 의 수행도는 낮은 것으로 인식하였고, 해당 역량군의 교육이 가장 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 작업치료 전공 대학생의 교육 요구도를 반영하여 예비 작업치료사로서 전공 대학생의 감각통합치료 역량을 위한 학교 교육 및 졸업 후 감각통합치료 분야의 초임 치료사의 역량강화 를 위한 교육 방향을 제시하였다.
