This paper focuses on the diversification of Sci-fi theater in Korea following the COVID-19 pandemic, examining recent works that critique contemporary anthropocentrism and engage with issues in Korean society through reflections on masculinity, power, the Anthropocene, and modern history. In particular, it explores four types of productions: plays that dramatize dystopian visions of the post-disaster world; plays that reconsider male-centered narratives of modern history; plays that foreground discussions of women’s bodies and rights; and plays that seek to expand queer discourse by exploring the relationality of sexual minorities. Through this analysis, the study investigates how recent Sci-fi theater interweaves posthumanism and feminism, connecting the shifts in perspective that emerged after the #Me Too movement to broader efforts to expand gender issues into the realm of the nonhuman, to articulate critical reflections on modern history, to foreground concerns about women’s bodies, and to merge disaster narratives with queer discourse. Although such attempts risk reproducing an uncritical optimism about connections between humans and nonhumans or romanticizing relationships among marginalized groups, it is nevertheless expected that contemporary Korean theater will continue to generate meaningful voices if the expanded awareness following #Me Too resonates with the broader perspectives that have emerged before and after the pandemic.

본고는 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 SF연극의 다각화에 주목하며, 최근 한국 SF연극이 동시대 인간중심주의를 비판하고 한국 사회의 문제를 남성·인류세·근현대사에 대한 성찰과 연결하는 사례를 고찰한다. 이 중에서도 디스토피아적 상상력을 바탕으로 재난 이후의 세계를 극화하는 연극, 남성 중심의 근현대사를 재고하는 연극, 여성의 몸과 권리를 논의하는 연극, 성소수자의 관계성을 모색하며 퀴어 담론을 확산하는 연극 등 네 가지 유형에 주목한다. 이를 통해 최근 SF연극이 포스트휴머니즘과 페미니즘을 교차적으로 사유하며 ‘미투’ 이후 시선의 전환과 연계해 젠더 이슈를 비인간의 영역으로 확장하는 경우, 근현대사에 대한 비판적 성찰을 드러내는 사례, 여성의 몸에 대한 문제의식을 전경화하는 연극, 그리고 재난 서사와 퀴어 담론을 접붙이려는 극적 시도를 분석한다. 염두에 둘 점은 이러한 시도가 현실의 문제를 도외시한 채 인간과 비인간의 연결을 낙관적으로 전망하거나, 소수자 간의 관계를 낭만화한다는 비판적 시선 또한 존재한다는 점이다. 그럼에도 미투 이후 확장된 문제의식과 팬데믹 전후 넓어진 시야가 공명한다면, 동시대 한국연극은 앞으로도 지속적으로 의미 있는 목소리를 생성할 수 있을 것이다.
