The support strategy for modern weapon systems centers on optimizing life-cycle management through the application of Performance-Based Logistics(PBL). A PBL application plan is generally established during the “review phase” of the PBL implementation process, where the PBL feasibility analysis serves as a key basis for determining its effectiveness and suitability. This study defines the scope of PBL feasibility analysis and examines the general characteristics of Exploratory Data Analysis(EDA) along with the specific features of field operational data to enhance the scientific rigor and systematic nature of the analysis. Based on these findings, a standardized framework for EDA-based PBL feasibility analysis is proposed, aiming to formalize the analysis procedure and secure its practical applicability. The proposed framework supports rational decision-making regarding PBL adoption for individual weapon systems and contributes to maximizing the applicability and operational efficiency of PBL by enabling the development of system-specific PBL alternatives.

현대 무기체계의 체계지원전략은 성과기반군수지원(PBL)을 적용한 수명주기관리의 최적화를 핵심으로 한다. PBL 적용 방 안은 일반적으로 PBL 추진 절차 중 “검토단계”에서 수립되며, 이때 수행되는 PBL 적용 타당성 분석은 PBL의 실효성과 적합 성을 판단하는 핵심 근거로 작용한다. 본 연구는 PBL 적용 타당성 분석 업무를 명확히 정의하고 분석의 과학성과 체계성을 제고하기 위해 탐색적 데이터 분석(EDA)의 일반적 특성과 야전운용제원의 특성을 고찰하였다. 이를 바탕으로 EDA 기반 PBL 적용 타당성 분석 프레임워크를 제안하고, 분석 절차의 정형화와 실무 적용 가능성을 확보하고자 한다. 제안된 프레임 워크는 무기체계별 PBL 적용 여부에 대한 합리적인 의사결정을 지원하며, 궁극적으로 체계 맞춤형 PBL 대안을 도출함으로 써 PBL의 가용성과 운용 효율성을 극대화하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.
