This study aims to analyze the correlation between the proportion of the elderly population and the number of healthcare facilities across different regions in South Korea, with the goal of exploring strategies for more efficient allocation of medical resources. Data on elderly population distribution and healthcare facility status were collected at both provincial and municipal levels using datasets provided by the Public Data Portal and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The collected data underwent preprocessing and merging, followed by analysis and visualization using Matplotlib and Seaborn to generate heatmaps and pie charts illustrating regional distributions. The results revealed that certain areas have a shortage of healthcare facilities relative to their elderly population, indicating the need to improve access to medical services in these regions. This study provides data-driven insights to support policymakers and healthcare providers in enhancing the fairness and efficiency of healthcare resource distribution.

본 연구는 한국 내 지역별 노인 인구 비율과 보건의료기관 수의 상관관계를 분석하여 의료 자원의 효율적인 배분 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 공공 데이터 포털과 보건복지부에서 제공하는 데이터를 활용하여 시도 및 시군구 단위의 노인 인구 분포와 보건의료기관 현황을 수집하였다. 데이터 전처리 및 병합을 통해 분석을 수행했으며, 시각화 기법 (Matplotlib, Seaborn)을 이용해 지역별 분포를 히트맵과 파이차트로 나타냈다. 분석 결과, 일부 지역은 노인 인구 대비 의료기관이 부족함을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 지역 간 의료 서비스 접근성 개선이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 정책 입안 자와 보건의료 서비스 제공자에게 데이터 기반의 정책 개선 방향을 제시한다.
