Using Kendall & Caterette's music communication model as a theoretical framework for the communication function of classical music in the film , this study structured and examined the communication stage through music in three stages: ‘communication with oneself’, ‘communication with others’, and ‘communication with society’. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that classical music functions as a means of inner expression of the protagonist, Jin-tae, and as a medium of emotional communication and social acceptance with others. This suggests that music is a non-verbal means of communication that conveys emotion and meaning, and that music in a movie is an artistic language that enables relationship recovery and community solidarity. This study has academic significance in that it newly illuminates the communication function of classical music in the movie through a convergent approach between film, music, and communication. In future research, it is necessary to reconstruct the music communication model and analyze the emotional interaction between directors, performers, and audiences in depth.

본 연구는 영화 <그것만이 내 세상>에 나타난 클래식 음악의 소통 기능을 켄달과 카 테렛(Kendall & Carterette, 1990)의 음악 커뮤니케이션 모델을 이론적 틀로 삼아, 음 악을 통한 소통 단계를 ‘자신과의 소통- 타인과의 소통-사회와의 소통’이라는 3단계로 구조화하여 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 클래식 음악은 주인공 진태의 내면 표현의 수단이 자 타인과의 감정적 교감, 사회적 수용의 매개체로 기능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 음 악이 감정과 의미를 전달하는 비언어적 소통의 수단이며, 영화 속 음악은 관계 회복과 공동체적 연대를 가능케 하는 예술적 언어임을 시사한다. 본 연구는 영화, 음악, 커뮤니 케이션 간 융합적 접근을 통해 영화 속 클래식 음악의 소통 기능을 새롭게 조명하였다 는 점에서 학술적 의의를 지닌다. 향후 연구에서는 음악 커뮤니케이션 모델을 재구성하 여 연출자, 연기자, 관객 간의 감정적 상호작용에 대해 심층적으로 분석할 필요가 있다.
