This study aimed to empirically analyze the relationships among course satisfaction, departmental satisfaction, and university life satisfaction among Chinese international students enrolled at University A. A survey was conducted with approximately 500 Chinese international students, and a total of 381 valid responses were ultimately included in the analysis. The results showed that course satisfaction had a significant positive effect on both departmental satisfaction and university life satisfaction, and departmental satisfaction also played an important role in influencing university life satisfaction. In particular, it was found that the higher the students’ course satisfaction, the greater their overall satisfaction with their department and university life. This study carries academic significance in that it empirically identified the specific pathways through which satisfaction with course and departmental experiences leads to overall university life satisfaction among international students. Moreover, it highlights that departmental support systems and interactions with faculty are key factors in enhancing both departmental satisfaction and university life satisfaction. These findings provide practical implications for improving international student support policies and learning environments, suggesting that universities should make multifaceted and systematic efforts—such as improving teaching methods, strengthening departmental support programs, and enhancing student counseling and career services—to not only promote international students’ academic success but also improve their overall satisfaction with university life.

본 연구는 A대학교에 재학 중인 중국인 유학생을 대상으로 수업만족도, 학과만족도, 대학 생활만족도 간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 총 500여 명의 중국인 유학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이 중 최종적으로 확보된 381부의 응답 데이터를 바탕으로 주요 변수 간의 관계를 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 수업만족도는 학과만족도와 대학생활만족도 모두에 유의미한 긍정적 영향을 미쳤고, 학과만족도 역시 대학생활만족도에 중요한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 수업만족도가 높을수록 유학생들이 학과에 대한 전반적 만족과 대학생활에 대한 만족이 함께 향상되는 경향이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 수업 및 학과에서의 만족 경험이 유학생의 대학생활만족도로 이어지는 구체적 경로를 실증적으로 규명하였다는 점에서 학술적 의의를 가지며, 이러한 분석 결과는 기존 선행 연구에서 보고된 경향성과도 부분적으로 일치한다. 아울러 학과 차원의 지원 체계와 교수진과의 상호 작용이 학과만족도 및 대학생활만족도를 높이는 핵심 요인임을 강조하며, 유학생 지원정책 및 학습환 경 개선을 위한 실질적 시사점을 제공한다. 대학은 유학생들의 학업적 만족뿐만 아니라 전반적인 대학 생활만족도를 증진하기 위해 교수법 개선, 학과 지원 프로그램 강화, 학생 상담 및 진로 지원 등 다각 적이고 체계적인 노력이 필요함을 시사한다.
