In order to standardize the behavior of descendants in serving their elders and promote the construction of family ethics and morality, scholar-officials in the Song Dynasty systematically sorted out and organized the filial piety practices in the process of expounding the concept of "filial piety" and thus constructed a clear and feasible set of family eldercare rituals. For the daily filial piety rituals to their descendants, Song scholars emphasized how to perform morning and evening greetings, not only specifying the procedures, specific attire and language, but also requiring that the son or daughter pay attention to their parents' state and reaction during the ritual. In the aspect of advising parents etiquette, Song Ru advocated whether to continue to persuade according to the size of the matter and the degree of harm, it is not necessary to blindly dissuade. On the basis of following the requirements of the words and deeds of the offspring in the rites of Song Dynasty, the descendants were required to have the necessary medical knowledge so as not to be mistaken by quacks. The rituals of female paternity emphasizes the obedience and respect to the mother and father of her husband, and opposes the accumulation of private wealth by women. The communication carriers of family pension etiquette in Song Dynasty are relatively rich, including traditional rites, family rites, family instructions, oracular texts, and exhortations to filial piety. At the same time, children's books and vivid and intuitive "Female Filial Piety Classic" also promote the dissemination of family pension etiquette. The family retirement etiquette constructed by the scholars in Song Dynasty was more simplified and popular, transforming the abstract moral concept of "filial piety" into words and deeds that were easy to practice. Since then, family pension etiquette was no longer hanging on the ideological level, but integrated into the daily family life, so that children and grandchildren have reference when they attend upon their parents and grandparents, realized the integration of thoughts and society, and promoted the construction of ethics and morality in the Song Dynasty.

송대 유교 가정윤리의 핵심인 ‘孝’를 중심으로, 자녀가 부모 및 조부모를 어떻게 예에 따라 봉양해야 하는지를 구체화한 송대의 가정 養老 예의와 그 전파 양상을 고 찰한 것이다. 송대 유학자들은 효의 실천이 곧 가정과 국가를 안정시키는 근간이라 보고, 예기, 효경 등 전통 경전의 규범을 실생활에 적용 가능한 형태로 해석하고 재구성하였다. 특히 ‘혼정신성(昏定晨省)’의 일상례, 음식을 올리는 봉양례, 질병 시 의 간호례, 여성의 시부모 봉양례 등이 제도화되었고, 이를 사대부뿐만 아니라 일반 민간층에까지 확산시키기 위해 家禮, 家訓, 諭俗文, 勸孝文, 아동 교육용 도서 및 회화 자료 등을 활용하였다. 송대의 가족 양로 예의는 기존의 복잡한 고례를 보다 실용적이고 간결하게 정비하였으며, 이러한 예의의 대중화와 교육화를 통해 자녀의 봉 양 행위를 규범화하고 가정윤리의 실천적 기반을 마련하였다. 그 결과, ‘효’는 단지 사상적 규범에 머물지 않고 일상생활 속 실천지침으로 자리잡게 되었으며, 송대 사회 전반의 도덕 질서를 형성하는 데 기여하였다.
