In modern society, with the advancement of technology, globalization, and the diversification of values, the scope of ethical issues has expanded in spatial, temporal, subjective, and objective dimensions, revealing the limitations of traditional ethical theories. This study highlights the necessity of a new ethical paradigm to respond to these changes and analyzes the applicability and coherence of Unification Thought’s ethics of public righteousness. By establishing a comparative framework, this research structurally examines the global discourse on universal ethics alongside the concept of gong-ui (public righteousness) in Unification Thought. The results show that this ethical system exhibits a high degree of coherence with the new ethical paradigm, characterized by spatial inclusiveness that encompasses both the physical world and the spirit world, temporal continuity from past to future generations, a family-centered three-subject structure, and an object range that includes both human beings and all creation. These findings suggest that the public righteousness ethics of Unification Thought can make a meaningful contribution to the establishment of a shared global ethic for humanity today.

현대사회는 기술 발전과 글로벌화, 가치관의 다원화 속에서 윤리 문제의 범위가 공간적·시간적·주체적·객체적으로 확장되며 기존 윤리 이론의 한계를 드러내고 있 다. 이에 본 연구는 이러한 변화에 대응하는 새로운 윤리 패러다임의 필요성을 제기 하고, 그에 대한 통일사상 공의주의 윤리의 적용 가능성과 정합성을 분석하였다. 비 교 준거틀을 설정하여 국제 사회의 보편 윤리 담론과 통일사상의 공의 개념을 구조 적으로 고찰한 결과, 공의주의 윤리는 지상과 영계를 아우르는 공간성, 과거·현재·미 래를 포괄하는 시간성, 가정 중심의 삼대주체 구조, 인간과 만물을 포함하는 객체성 이라는 특성을 바탕으로 새로운 윤리 패러다임의 기준과 높은 정합성을 보였다. 이 는 통일사상 윤리가 오늘날 인류 공동의 윤리 정립에 기여할 수 있는 가능성을 보여준다.
