In 2024, we conducted a survey of insect diversity at Mt. Jiri-san using pitfall traps as part of a natural resource investigation at the National Park. During this survey, we identified Sphaerites glabratus belonging to the family Sphaeritidae, and recorded this species in Korea for the first time. We have provided photographs of the female habitus and illustrations of the female genitalia.
