Object: This study aimed to identify the methods and outcomes of occupation-based interventions as well as the dependent variables and assessment tools used in studies on occupation-based interventions for older adults. Methods: Studies were collected from the Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and RISS databases. There were no restrictions on study duration. Study selection followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and seven studies were included. Results: Of the seven included studies, three were randomized controlled trials, three were one-group non-randomized studies, and one was a single-case study. The most frequently assessed dependent variable in the selected studies was occupational performance, followed by a variety of other variables such as physical function, cognitive function, depression, and quality of life. The interventions showed significant improvements in various aspects, including occupational performance, quality of life, and reductions in depression. Conclusion: This study aimed to provide evidence and direction for the development of and research regarding occupation-based interventions for older adults. Future research should focus on high-quality studies and verify the effectiveness of occupation-based interventions on various aspects in older adults.

목적 : 본 연구는 노인을 대상으로 한 작업기반 중재의 방법, 결과, 설정한 종속변수 및 평가도구에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 문헌 수집은 국내ㆍ외 데이터베이스인 Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, RISS를 활용하였다. 연구 기간에는 제한을 두지 않았으며, 문헌 선정은 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 가이드라인에 따라 진행하였고, 총 7편의 문헌을 선정하였다. 결과 : 최종 선정한 문헌의 질적 수준은 무작위 대조군 실험 연구 3편, 단일 집단 비무작위 실험 연구 3편, 단일 사례연구 1편으로 구성되었다. 중재 대상은 뇌졸중 노인, 치매를 진단받지 않은 노인, 치매를 진단받지는 않았으나 기억력 저하를 보고한 노인, 손 기능에 제한이 있는 노인이었다. 문헌에서 설정한 종속변수는 작업수행이 가장 많았으며, 그 외 신체 기능, 인지 기능, 우울, 삶의 질 등 다양한 변수를 포함하였다. 작업기반 중재는 노인의 작업수행, 우울 감소, 삶의 질 향상 등에 긍정적인 효과를 보인 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구는 노인을 위한 작업기반 중재의 개발과 연구의 근거 및 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 향후에는 높은 질적 수준의 연구와 작업기반 중재가 노인의 다양한 측면에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
