This study aims to examine the current status and future prospects of sports tech application in the fitness industry by comparatively analyzing leading domestic and international cases of exercise data-driven sports tech companies. The recent digital transformation in the sports industry has seen the emergence of sports tech, utilizing exercise data as a core resource. However, existing domestic research has been limited to technology introductions or policy proposals, lacking empirical analysis of actual market applications. Utilizing a qualitative case study methodology, this research conducts in-depth analyses of Peloton, WHOOP, and Freeletics internationally, and Rabbit Review, Nub, and Fitogether domestically. The findings indicate that global companies lead the market with advanced technological infrastructure and platform-based expansion strategies, while domestic companies secure growth foundations through differentiated strategies such as AI-based coaching, hardware-linked platforms, and specialized sports data technology, supported by government policies and healthcare integration. Exercise data-driven sports tech is evolving into a high-value-added industry, moving beyond simple fitness services to integrate with various sectors such as healthcare, rehabilitation, insurance, and public services. It is expected to expand further through continuous technological investment and policy support.

본 연구는 운동 데이터 기반 스포츠테크 기업의 국내외 대표 사례를 비교 분석함으로써 피트니스 산업 내 기술 적용 현황과 확장 가능성을 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 최근 스포츠산업은 디지털 전환을 맞이하며 운동 데이터를 핵심 자원으로 활용하는 스포츠테크가 부상하고 있다. 그러나 기존 국내 연구는 기술 소개나 정책 제안에 편중되어 실제 시장 적용 사례에 대한 실증적 분석이 미흡하다는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 정성적 사례연구 방법을 활용하여 국외의 Peloton, WHOOP, Freeletics와 국내의 래빗리뷰, 누브, 핏투게더를 심층분석하였다. 분석결과, 글로벌 기업들은 고도화된 기술 인프라와 플랫폼 기반 확장 전략으로 시장을 선도하는 반면, 국내 기업들은 AI 기반 코칭, 하드웨어 연동 플랫폼, 전문 스포츠 데이터 기술을 바탕으로 정책 지원 및 의료 기반 연계를 통한 차별화 전략으로 성장 기반을 확보하고 있음을 확인하였다. 운동 데이터 기반 스포츠테크는 단순한 피트니스 서비스 를 넘어 헬스케어, 재활, 보험, 공공 서비스 등 다양한 산업과의 융합을 통해 고부가가치 산업으로 진화하고 있으며, 향후 지속적인 기술 투자와 정책적 지원을 통해 더욱 확대될 것으로 전망된다.
