This is time when a social attitude that embraces the developmental diversity of children is needed. Recently, picture books that address developmental difficulties have appeared. These picture books are meaningful media for children diagnosed with disabilities and their significant others. This study focused on ADHD, which actually occurs more frequently, and analyzed picture books that address this topic. Specifically, the purpose of this study is to analyze the narrative devices of ADHD picture books and the structure of ADHD children's experiences as depicted in these books. The research subjects are 25 domestic and international ADHD picture books for infants and lower elementary school students. Through content analysis, the narrative devices of ADHD picture books were examined, and through thematic analysis, the structure of ADHD children's experiences in the books was explored. Results of this study are as follows. First, the main characters in ADHD picture books were mostly boys in the lower grades of elementary school with ADHD. The key supporting characters appeared as parents, teachers, peers, and experts. The stories are narrated from the first-person point of view, and unfolded in settings such as kindergartens and schools. Second, the structure of the experiences of children with ADHD in picture books was shown by difficulties, external support, and self-acceptance of children with ADHD. Due to core symptoms, Children with ADHD experienced interpersonal issues and negative emotional reactions, but with external support, they accepted themselves. This study highlights picture books as a medium for understanding the developmental challenges of children diagnosed with ADHD.

아동이 지닌 발달적 다양성을 포용하는 사회적 태도가 필요한 시점이다. 최근에 는 발달적 어려움을 다루는 그림책이 등장하고 있다. 이러한 그림책들은 장애를 진단받은 아동과 이들의 주요 타자들에게 의미 있는 매체가 된다. 본 연구는 실 제 발생빈도가 증가하는 ADHD에 주목하여, 이를 주제로 한 그림책을 분석하였 다. 구체적으로, 본 연구의 목적은 ADHD 그림책의 서사 장치와 그림책에 등장 하는 ADHD 아동의 경험 구조를 분석하는 데 있다. 연구 대상은 유아 및 초등 저학년 대상의 국내외 ADHD 그림책 25권이다. 내용분석을 통해 ADHD 그림책 의 서사 장치를 분석하였고, 중심주제분석을 통해 그림책에서 ADHD 아동의 경 험이 어떠한 구조로 나타나는지 살펴보았다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그 림책의 주인공은 ADHD를 가진 초등 저학년의 남아가 많았고, 주요 등장인물은 부모, 교사, 또래, 전문가로 나타났다. 이야기는 1인칭 주인공 시점으로 서술되 었고, 유치원 및 학교를 배경으로 전개되었다. 둘째, 그림책에 등장하는 ADHD 아동의 경험 구조는 ADHD 아동의 어려움, 의료적ㆍ전문적 및 정서ㆍ사회적 지원, 자기 수용으로 나타났다. ADHD 아동은 핵심적 증상으로 인해 대인관계 문 제를 겪어 부정적인 정서 반응을 보였고, 지원을 통해 자기를 수용하였다. 본 연구는 ADHD를 진단받은 아동의 발달적 어려움을 이해하기 위한 매체로서 그 림책을 조명하였다.
