The government began relocating public institutions concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area in 2012 to promote balanced national development. One of the primary goals of this relocation policy is to revitalize local economies and strengthen the social contribution activities of public institutions through mutual growth with local communities. This study aims to analyze the current status of social contribution activities conducted by public institutions relocated to Gyeongnam Innovation City and to propose practical directions for mutual growth with the local community. Based on a literature review and institutional reports, the study categorizes and evaluates the characteristics and limitations of these activities. While most institutions engage in programs aligned with their organizational roles, many initiatives remain fragmented, lacking local customization, inter-institutional collaboration, and long-term sustainability. Accordingly, the study suggests three key strategies: strengthening community-based initiatives, building cooperative networks among institutions, and establishing systematic and sustainable implementation frameworks. In particular, the case of the "Momo Market," developed through collaboration with local nonprofit and cultural organizations, is highlighted as a representative model of demand-driven public sector engagement.

본 연구는 경남지역 혁신도시로 이전한 공공기관의 사회공헌활동 현황을 분석하고 지역사회와의 상생을 위한 실질적 개선방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로 문헌조사와 기관별 자료 수집을 통해 사회공헌활동의 유형과 특성을 분석한 결과, 대다수 기관이 고유 업무와 연계한 활동을 수행하고 있었으나, 여전히 일회성 행사에 그치는 경우가 많았고, 지역 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 프로그램과 기관 간 협력, 장기적 운영체계의 부족이 한계로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구는 지역밀착형 활동의 강화, 기관 간 협력 네트워크 구축, 지속 가능하고 체계적인 추진 전략 마련을 과제로 제시한다. 특히 비영리단체와의 협업으로 추진된 ‘모모장터’ 사례는 수요자 중심 사회공헌의 실현 가능성을 보여주는 대표적 사례로 평가된다.
