This study structurally examined the factors influencing the perception of the Korean autonomous police system. Through this, the aim was to facilitate an integrated discussion to enhance perception of the autonomous police system. Specifically, the study empirically analyzed the structural relationships among perceptions of regional safety, satisfaction with autonomous police services, and perceptions of the autonomous police system. Data from the study titled “A Study on the Implementation and Establishment of the Korean Autonomous Police System (Ⅰ)” was used, targeting adults residing in Seoul, Sejong, and Jeju. According to the analysis results, the perception of regional safety did not have a statistically significant impact on the perception of the autonomous police system. However, satisfaction with autonomous police services was found to have a positively significant effect on the perception of the autonomous police system. Furthermore, satisfaction with autonomous police services showed a significant indirect effect in the relationship between regional safety perception and perception of the autonomous police system, indicating a fully mediated model structure. These findings suggest that efforts are needed to improve satisfaction with autonomous police services. Moreover, in enhancing the perception of the autonomous police system through the lens of perceptions of regional safety, efficient engagement and practical operational strategies in specific autonomous police tasks may be necessary.

본 연구는 한국형 자치경찰제도 인식에 미치는 영향요인을 구조적으로 검토하였다. 이를 통해 자치경찰 제도 인식 제고를 위한 통합적 논의를 진행하고자 했다. 구체적으로 지역 안전성 인식과 자치경찰사무 만족도 및 자치경찰제도 인식간의 구조적 영향 관계를 실증적으로 분석하였다. ｢한국형 자치경찰제 시행 및 정착에 관한 연구(Ⅰ)｣조사자료를 활용하였으며 서울, 세종, 제주에 거주하는 성인을 대상으로 분석을 시도했다. 분석결과에 따르면 지역 안전성 인식이 자치경찰제도 인식에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 하지만 자치경찰사무 만족도가 자치경찰제도 인식에 미치는 영향은 양적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 지역 안전성 인식이 자치경찰제도 인식에 미치는 영향에 있어서 자치경찰사무 만족도의 간접효과는 양적으로 유의했으며 완전한 매개모형 구조를 나타냈다. 이에 자치경찰사무에 대한 만족도를 높이기 위한 노력이 필요하며, 지역 안전성 인식을 통해 자치경찰제도 인식을 제고하는데 있어서 구체적 자치경찰사무 의 효율적 개입과 실천적 운영방안이 필요할 수 있음을 시사했다.
