Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance patterns and characteristics of elite women's handball during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. Methods To achieve this, a total of 76 women's handball games from both events were examined. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS version 25.0. Due to the absence of a normal distribution, non-parametric statistical methods were employed, specifically the Mann-Whitney U test, to assess differences in game outcomes and performance characteristics across competition rounds. Statistical significance was set at p<.05. Results As a result of the study, first, it was found that the success rate of 9m, wing, and BT increased at the Paris Olympics. Second, the factors that showed significant differences in both the winning and losing games were 6m shooting attempt, 6m shooting success, 7m shooting success, and turnover factors. Third, the factors that showed significant differences in both the preliminary and tournament games were 6m shooting attempt, 6m shooting success, 7m shooting attempt, 7m shooting success, and turnover. Conclusions In conclusion, analysis of winning games and tournament stages indicated a decrease in the 6m shooting success rate and an increase in the 9m shooting success rate on average.

본 연구의 목적은 2020 도쿄올림픽과 2024 파리올림픽 엘리트 여자 핸드볼의 경기력 흐름과 특징을 파악하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2020 도쿄올림픽과 2024 파리올림픽 여자 핸드볼 76경 기를 대상으로 연구하였다. 연구 절차는 통계분석을 위하여 SPSS 25.0버전을 사용하였으며, 정규분포를 만족하지 않아 비모수 통계를 활용하였다. 때문에, 경기결과에 대한 차이와 라운드에 따른 특징을 확인 하기 위하여 Mann-Whitney U test를 실시하였다. 통계적 검증은 유의수준 p<.05로 설정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 파리올림픽에서 9m, wing, BT의 성공률은 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 승리와 패배 경기 모두 유의미한 차이가 나타난 요인은 6m 슈팅시도, 6m 슈팅성공, 7m 슈팅성공, 턴오버 요인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 예선과 토너먼트 경기 모두 유의미한 차이가 나타난 요인은 6m 슈팅시도, 6m 슈팅성공, 7m 슈팅 시도, 7m 슈팅성공, 턴오버로 나타났다. 결론적으로 승리하는 경기와 토너먼트 경기를 보면 평균적으로 6m 슈팅 성공률이 낮아지고 9m 슈팅성공률이 증가되며, 턴오버가 줄어들면서 수비 조직력이 강해지면 서 중장거리 슈팅의 중요성이 증가되고 있는 것을 볼 수 있었다.
