Through the narrative, a qualitative research method, the life of retired professional dancers, the voluntary retirement process experienced in the process, and the process of career re-transformation were examined as follows. professional dancers are jobs obtained through more than 10 years of skill, but due to their professional characteristics of expressing art through body movement, they undergo an early retirement process compared to general occupations due to frequent injuries and stress such as parenting. In particular, it was found that professional dancers suffered a lot during the retirement process and even after retirement, with no welfare or programs to solve these retirement factors in the dance company. Accordingly, the dance company should resolve the retirement factors and provide the retirement program necessary for the re-career process. In addition, it is judged that practical institutional and policy research to solve these problems should be actively conducted.

이 연구는 직업무용수의 삶과 자발적 은퇴 과정, 그리고 진로 재전환 과정 등의 경험을 개개인의 내러티브를 통해 심층적으로 분석하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 다음과 같이 결론을 종합해 볼 수 있다. 직업무용수는 10년 이상의 숙련과정을 통해 서 얻게 되는 직업이지만, 몸의 움직임을 통해 예술을 표현하는 직업적 특성으로 잦은 부상과 육아 등의 스트레스로 일반직군에 비해 이른 은 퇴 과정을 경험하였다. 특히 무용단에서 이러한 은퇴요인을 해소하기 위 한 복지 및 프로그램이 전무한 상태로 직업무용수는 은퇴 과정과 은퇴 이후에도 많은 어려움을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 무용단은 은퇴 요인을 해소하고, 재 진로 과정에 필요한 은퇴 프로그램을 개발하고 적 극적으로 제공해야 할 것이다. 이와 관련하여 추후 직업무용수의 삶과 자발적 은퇴 과정 그리고 재 진로전환에서 나타나는 문제요인을 해결하기 위한 실질적인 제도적, 정책적 연구가 활발하게 이루어져야 할 것이다.
